Hello there, I am RD4life, and I am terrible at maths. I need help with my math homework to get a good grade in 2 days. I'll be making excercises myself, and if I have no clue what I am doing, I'll ask for help. We've already done some math on the zombie server, and math with a few people over the internet is actually pretty fun! *I'll be turning the thread into something real, using gradually more difficult problems, just to have fun! **I horribly failed the test... Q_Q

6+y=3/t with T=x-5
Express X in Y.

NEW PROBLEMS!

1/5p+3=3/10p-8

15/2x-1=3

2(q=1)=4p-5 (Express P in Q)

q+8-1/p+6=0 (Express P in Q)

Good luck y'all!

Ehm, what would be the point of that? ;o

Well, you can also do it this way and then divide both sides by (6+y) so that you get to the same answer. It's normal to skip this step though.
Well, the fact that it's actually possible.

6 + y = 3/(x-5)
3/(6+y) = x - 5
This transition isn't possible. What exactly did you do here? Multiply both sides by 3? Divide by 3? Nope. Then why is 3 on the left side???

I always use the math rule that I explained a few posts before. But you can also do it in your way.

Multiply by (x-5) so you get "(x - 5)(6 + y) = 3" and then divide both sides by (6 + y) so that you get "((x-5)(6+y))/6+y) = 3/(6+y)" which is "x - 5 = 3/(6+y). This step is usually skipped though because it wastes time.

I'm a bit late to the party, but I love math, so I'm going to try it anyway.

6+y=3/t with T=x-5 Express Y in X
6 + y = 3 / t
6 + y = 3 / (x - 5)
*3 *3 *3
18 + 3y = 3x - 15
-18 -18
3y = 3x - 33
/3 /3 /3
y = x - 11

... Did I get it?

Edit : I feel like I messed this up, just because I have no idea what to do with the dividing of the distribution, which is something I haven't faced.

Time to go to Google to find this out, because... Math.

Edit Edit : Well, it's kind of hard to find this via Google. :p
