Ouija Boards.

What is up with them.

Seriously I've had the most rational people I know come to me with fuckin' horror stories of their first hand experiences with them. And I know there's yadayadayadascience to explain what the hell is going on. It still fascinates me and intrigues me to have the chance to finally have a siance or silence or whatever those are called though.

What's Blocktopia's ((your's)) experience with Ouija Boards, if any?

My sister said she did it with her friends and it worked.
...? Dunno, maybe there's some truth in it, some people would say spirits are myths, others would say they have some small force in the world and that a Ouija Board is just a simple way to allow them persuasion over certain objects or events.

A friend of my girlfriend is into the whole occult deal(or so I'm told) and owns a Ouija board. Allegedly, she told my girlfriend prior to knowing me that her next boyfriend's name would be Will. I'm not really sure what to make of that, though I should note that I think Ouija boards are mumbo jumbo 99% of the time.

Disclamer: Not being present at the time of this incident I can not verify the accuracy of these claims.

If it works, why do it (risk spirits and nasty stuff).
If it doesn't work, why do it (waste of time and just fooling yourself).
So, they're just really silly.
Once someone hears it works they'll want spirits to predict their future. I mean, if you think literally, spirits don't affect any aspect of our lives ever, but if you pick up a Ouija board you can suddenly commune

Well, you don't actually know if spirits affect our lives. After all, they can affect an Ouija board.
And who knows if they can even predict the future?

I suppose not, but how directly do you see things like messages and just obvious clues toward spirit involvement each day?

I've done it a few times, I cannot say if they were cheating and moving it on their own though.
They seemed to ask questions the only real "spirit" would know.
But this mumbojumbo freaks me out.

Think of it like "A watched pot never boils." Also, the experience is different for everyone, it also depends on location typically with high spiritual activity.

I personally, NEVER would want to mess with one. Mainly because i have come into physical contact with spirits. I do believe in them, there's high rational evidence of true existence, (rather than in MOST subjects.....) and science does not, and CAN NOT disprove them. Its a mystery, and mysteries are quite fun.

Science may explain the placebo effect for some situations, but again that does not prove anything objectively (meaning for all) its still a subjective matter.

My advice? Don't use one, because they can work, and if it does. You best watch your back.

Another spooky topic, that id advise never doing, is playing "Hide and seek alone" its.... bad news.

My Mum always told me to not fuck around with them. Apparently she used one with my Granny in the attic of her old house and asked if anyone was there and it said yes.

So (naturally) I did it with one of my friends. I knew she was just faking it though. Said she had a mysterious ghost boy talk to her.

I personally just don't want to ever use one. Spirity things scared me, and though they may be proven to not exist with science, they still scare the hell out of me, and I don't wanna mess with spirits because I'm a scaredy cat ;-;.

I was like paranoid and wouldn't go in the dark after reading up on scary japanese rituals, including the midnight man, hide and seek alone, and something else I believe (don't try thoughs, it's hard to tell if they're real or not and it's freaking scary, especially midnight man). The only reason I'd turn off the lights was if I was going to sleep, and then I would like jump into the blanket as if it protected me. I don't think I'd stand if I actually faced things like that myself, including the ouija board, real or not. D:
