PvP and 1.9

What do you think about recent changes in snapshots? How it will affect PvP?

These poison/harming/weakening arrows means that archers got buffed.
There are shields, that block attacks.
Spam click got nerfed.
Potions of strength now have +3/+6 damage and weakness - -4/-8 damage modifier.

Take note that a Diamond Axe is now a better weapon than an Iron Sword. All swords take 1.25 seconds to "Charge", while Axes take 0.8 seconds. It doesn't look like Pickaxes or Shovels need time to charge, so a Sharpness 2 Diam. Pickaxe might be the best weapon available.

we'll see what they do in terms of balancing it out, very highly doubt it's gonna stay as is since they've said in every snapshot "none of this has been even slightly balanced"

I'm good at timing, so I have no problem with the new melee change, and it's even a bit more realistic.
It's also nice that while shields do deflect 100% damage when being used, it's still possible to circle around someone who is shielding to bypass the shield.

I know but probably some good pvprs become not soo good and viceversa

Edit: iron swords to 7 HP damage and diamond 8 HP.
So now its not much difference - and iron typically gets better enchants than diamond.

So now looks like iron won't be much worse than diamond sword.
Iron sword max damage: 19.25 HP - with Sharpness V and Strength II
Diamond sword gets 20.25 HP - with Sharpness V and Strength II

Also armor lose protection with decreasing durability.
So raiders raid quickly until defenders tear you apart and poison you with arrows.
Armor got big nerf lmao

I shot myself with bow that had max enchants and I had armor with best enchants.
While arrow itself took 2 HP, poison took 12 HP.
So looks like archers will have too much fun for now.
Wonder how it will get balanced


It took 3 arrows. Of course if I had potions of regen/health/golden apples/steaks it would take more arrows. Maybe constant fire lol.

Edit: 4 withers consecutively spawned were enough to trash diamond armor

Too many changes and new factors. Something is going to be heavily unbalanced though based on how many things were changed.

Hi. Not a PvPer, but I look forward to this, if not for PvP, then for PvE.

It'll probably be easier to get absolutely destroyed in 5v1 situations, though. Especially if they have archers and warriors at well respectable angles.

I'm not bad enough to use auto draw and bowaim tho.. Even on kitpvp/shotbow servers I never used bowcheats

I talk about myself like this all the time in regards to this horrible game, never once have I gotten in actual trouble/had anyone important think that I seriously cheated

Horrible game as in general? Yes vanilla single player is horrible ;^)
I never play on single player, unless I'm testing snapshots.
Or horrible PvP? Does 1.9 changes to pvp make more or less horrible? ;^)

Cool story m8, was really only saying that neither me nor pace play or care enough about minecraft to actually do a pvp video with raxo.

Props on you for volunteering though, I look forward to watching the video of you and whoever you find demonstrating the new pvp for everyone here.
