because there's an actual reason to vote for you in their eyes?
i mean, someone not wanting you to claim has no link to trustworthiness, and being openly suspicious of someone simply because they vote for you despite your agreeing with something they said smells an awful lot like a contrived suspicion to get the heat off your back
that's fair
the entire reason you should claim your role, and in detail at that, is because we don't know how role reveals are handled in this game
it's possible that we only get a general idea of the role and not any details upon death, it's possible (although unlikely, in my opinion) that the death message is being screwed with by the dart or something/someone else looking to gain some headway over the rest of the players in regards to information
it is, of course, possible that upon your death we'll get a public and detailed description of your role anyway, but in that case it's only a matter of when the reveal take place, not if
it is also possible that the dart was not a poison dart and was instead a tranquiliser or some other type of dart (what the different flavours would translate into game-wise, i have no particular ideas), in which case your role reveal can be somewhat detrimental to town effort, i suppose, but even so, there are things to be learned for the town even then and you would pretty much be guaranteed to live through the first night, at least, since there's no point for the mafia in killing a player who's (as far as they (probably, there is, i suppose, also the possibility of the dart shooter being a member of the mafia) know) going to, in all likelyhood, die anyway
and sorry for that convoluted sentence structure, i just really can't be arsed to make an effort to make it look pretty with this fever, as long as the meaning is clear
that makes sense I guess, I'm not sure whether revealing my role but surviving is worse than dead and unknown
My role is Bird Watcher, I chose a person and see who visits in the night, I'm town-sided

I think that a lot of the miscommunication is the difference between not everything being revealed about a role upon death (the most likely) and the role just being shown as something completely different (highly unlikely, especially during the day on the first day). Now that web has revealed their role, the argument is more or less moot for this case... But it is most likely that when someone dies we will get enough information to know what their role did unless it is a fringe role (i.e. a weird third-party role like my Oracle/Lonely survivor from last game).

After a relatively quiet morning with nobody really taking anything too seriously, a dart flying through the air and hitting someone stirred things up quite a bit. Fingers were pointed, suspicions developed, and as the sun set on the horizon and an orange sky spread above over the town of Paradise, the indecisive nature of the town concluded in a no-lynch.
It is now Night 1.

As the morning sun rises over the town of Paradise and the residents slowly awake, the townsfolk decide to do a head-count, anxious of the night's possible events and cautiously optimistic that everybody is in fact okay. As the town convene to do so, something strange is spotted, bolted into the side of a lamppost:
After taking a look at the strange work of art, the head-count commences, and it soon becomes clear that someone is missing. And it soon becomes clear that their corpse lies in their house, sleeping on the blood-soaked bed sheets, stuffing up the air with the foul stench of slaughter.
Vatumok, Pierre De Santi the Assassin, has died.

Just reread thread and nothing we can really gather from vat's death since he said practically nothing and noone said anything about him.... Also we can confirm the whole possible roleblocking thing once web confirms whether or not their action did anything last night. Otherwise, anyone have any concrete leads?
