They're not removing sponsors, In-fact sponsors will only go to web-sites that are legal and they will be viewed more because there's less web-sites around, Youtube will be gone for example so Yahoo has more viewers (example)
Electric bills will not lower too much, We don't even use the internet that much if you think about it, We play more games like Dead island or Minecraft but we didn't play on-line all the time. Servers will stay on-line and games will too, If you browse internet sites all day it's getting boring (except for youtube)

They're-not-controling-the-world's-internet. They're-blocking-American-users-from-using-certain-sites. Basically-someone-in-the-UK-can-look-at-Youtube-while-an-American-can-not.

This also means that many of my favorite youtubers will be forced to stop producing gaming videos and will be cut off from their job, which is basically america increasing the jobless rate even FURTHER... way to go america's government, way to go..

Internet = International
U.S. Legislation would cover any websites based in the U.S., therefore they won't be controlling it internationally. If we wanted to, we'd have brought it to the United Nations, and half of the countries there practically illegalized business or disagree with its practices (China, Vietnam, North Korea), so of course this legislation would never go global with Communism and Socialism in the picture.
Wasn't there something way similar to this a long time ago, but directed to video games? I heard about a bill (that didn't pass, don't worry :L) that was supposed to pretty much end game montages, reviews, commentary's, etc. Is this supposed to be like the same thing, but just taken way further?

S. 978? Yes, this is basically S. 978 on a grand scale.
Not exactly, but @Duffie wouldn't be able to post YouTube links like she does every day o.o, we wouldn't be able to have cool discussions about songs and funny stuff if it had any form of advertising inside of it, which lets face it, we can't have a cool discussion without laughing or being amazed at another company's or person's work/product.

Oh, and one thing that EVERYONE is too ignorant to notice - you wouldn't be prosecuted unless you refused to remove content within a certain time or if you posted said content following the bill's acceptance.
I severely doubt it will be passed. S. 978 didn't get passed, and it didn't affect as much as SOPA does. Imagine the feedback the congress was bombarded with from the Internet during the time of S. 978, and multiply it by 9001. You'll acquire the feedback they are getting about SOPA.
Bucketloads of websites are fighting it - Reddit, 4chan, KnowYourMeme, ICanHasCheezburger, Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook - Way more than the amount fighting S. 978.
It won't pass. It's nearly gauranteed, judging by the amount of opposition.
The tech industry stomped down on S. 978, and they will stomp down - with more force - on SOPA.
eehhhhhhhhhhh I'm not about to get my panties in a bunch or go running for the hills (canada?) because anyone in their right mind would deny it and though I know people can be major fuckups, people don't get elected to office for no reason, sooooo I have faith in them that they'll make the correct decision.
