1.7 Server Compatibility

Good news!​

You can now join all our servers using 1.7.2. The servers themselves still run 1.6, but it means you don't have to use your 1.6.4 profile any more!​

(I'll say it again, since some people can't read properly: The servers still run 1.6, none of the .7 features are currently there. All we did was making 1.7 clients able to connect.)​

Well, you are talking about BuildBox where you can spawn any item in Minecraft in, there's also some maps on AoD where roses are replaced with the poppies, like Colourido for example, the kits with red roses have poppies.

Unless I am incredibly stupid or completely off(and gmk can confirm if I am), the changes you see on the server are all client side, which is why you can use them. IE, sprint button, completely clientside. Blocks, clientside(I believe. There may be something extra tied into that.)

Any other 1.7 changes, ie, new biomes and such, directly relating to the game aren't going to be here until after the servers are truly 1.7

Hope that clears up any misconceptions! (And yes, I am basing this fully off of assumptions, but it seems to be what's at hand.)

Is there a way to allow 1.6.4 clients to join the servers with the 1.7.2 clients? Or make a way for us, who haven't updated yet (for different reasons like : essential mods, data limits, etc.) to be able to direct connect to the servers?
