Comparative Worth

Is the inherent worth of humans greater than that of other animals organisms life? Why/why not?
This was mentioned in the Cloning thread, piqued my interest, and I'd like to see both sides of the argument show their reasoning in a civil manner.

Can we please stop with these threads? I mean, I like to talk about these things too but I don't think they belong on a minecraft forum. I feel like there is no way this could end well. There is a reason that politics/religious discussion generally are not approved of in BT/ER.

Can we not do threads on such controversial topics? Sure, having a discussion and everything is cool and fine and dandy and I'm sure some of us are capable of handling such topics but I'd like to take some time to remind us all that we are a gaming community and our policy has always been that we do not have these discussions despite our recent slack. This will be locked unless another Director or Admin feels otherwise.
