So this has been happening on my computer for the past few months:

This problem prevents me from manually putting my computer into sleep mode, meaning that when I go to sleep at night, the computer turns on a minute later and stays on all night wasting a shit ton of power for no reason. It used to happen at the regular interval of two days, but now it just turns on randomly whenever it wants to.

Any tech wizards in the community willing to do some research of their own/suggest solutions/help me would be greatly appreciated because I've done plenty of research and every solution I've tried doesn't work. :(

Hm... Well I don't want to jump straight to a negative but could you possibly have a computer virus of sorts?

In my time researching computer worms I haven't exactly seen any virus that could potentially do this, however I do not rule it out. Try doing a scan with your Antivirus if you have one to see if any bad news pops up?

I have plenty of times, neither my previous antivirus (Spyware Doctor, which is no longer purchasable) or AVG (Free version) could detect anything of the sort. This was around the time that my father started using the computer for things and he knows nothing about computers. The problem with him is that he has admitted to looking up stupid shit and going to sites that may or may not be safe.

I have recently been monitoring when the problem arises, but I've never caught it turning on yet.

My grandma was having a very similar problem a few months back. The only difference is that it would turn on at an exact time in the night. Quick research led me to it being a BIOS problem - a part of the computer was, for some reason, scheduled to turn on the system at a certain time.

Since you've did a lot of research, I'm sure you've probably already seen this solution before. Plus, it doesn't completely match your problem. But, I just thought it would be a little helpful to mention just in case.

EDIT: Also, here's some instructions on how I fixed it:
