DotA (Dawn of the Ancient) is a very popular mod for Warcraft III that gave birth to the MOBA genre (League of Legends, Heroes of Newerth, etc).
The time has come for a sequel.
Valve has cooperated with Icefrog (the original maker of DotA) to make Dota 2.
For now it is at closed beta (?). But valve is planning to make the game as a F2P game.

Just a note :
1. Item Name has been changed.
2. Shop has been merged (excluding Secret Shops).
3. A very small amount of new items are introduced. (afaik)

Though, if you do bad stuff in-game (for example, trolling, calling your team a nub, harassing a player too much, intentionally made the game bad for other people, etc), then you will be given a penalty (usually a ban). And you must PAY to get out of it.

Yep. Also, if someone leaves, your loss us forgiven if you're not the leaver

I like that... Sometimes. Depends if you are with total strangers or with your friend, and you take turns leaving or something like that.

Though you're really risking a very expensive ban
IN OTHER NEWS... You can "draw" on the minimap. (expect some guy drawing stuff you shouldn't see in it. happened a few times)

Paying to get unbanned sounds so weird... and might drive people of it, then again, the good thing is it probably drives all the noobs away, and leaves all the experienced pro players behind :3
