How would you describe the responsibility of the rank you apply for:
It's a responsibility that adds a dimension to the experience of others. Being an economist entails that you are willing to do just a bit more than others. And most importantly, that you are willing to stay fair no matter of the circumstances.
As an economist you handle the great aspect of the server; which is the economy in general. You've got to update the prices once in a while, wheter that is once a month, a week, or maybe even a day. Finding a general currency would be required if such a system was implemented.
A currency would be an item that can't be obtained by players, but is also not unobtainable within the game itself (as in, has to be hacked in) An item such as bedrock (however, it can be placed down and will cause problems) But perhaps emeralds are the best choice. They were implemented as currency and are far less common than iron or, and correct me if I am wrong, diamonds.
As economist it would be fun to host little events too, like markets on friday or sales for certain items. Have a plaza to trade items at, or maybe a place to gamble at (bit risky, but not excluded) In general, what I think my responsibility would be is that you should keep a balance between obtaining currencies and obtaining items. You can't get an item without the required currency, and you can't get the currency if you don't have the required items.
Tell us about your experience as an Operator:
It's been a pleasure serving the server thus far and the players couldn't have been kinder to me. Having had previous experience with the tools I was given, it was only natural that I wouldn't botch up and abuse them. I enjoyed the staffing I have done so far too, and if it weren't for me being busy with school (I am currently undergoing a test week that I've nearly finished) then I would've played more. I've also been playing different games such as Zelda, Metroid or Team Fortress 2. Asides from that, I would not see myself lose my rank in the near future, unless I'd do something stupid as abusing my privileges.
Tell us about yourself in less than 200 words:
I am a young man that has fallen in love with the trading system of other games. The moment I heard that the server was in need of an economist, I was very enthusiastic. I didn't want to test my luck though, and hence I waited.
(I got carried away with making it and kept it very short so that it would fit, foolish now that I think of it)
