Eight things wrong with CW's "The Flash" costume

NOTE: I understand the people who made this costume worked hard on it. This is simply pointing out what I see wrong with it.

  1. The first thing you'll probably notice about this is that the symbol is completely perfe-- Oh. It's red. What happened to the white circle? This is annoying.
  2. One of the biggest mistakes you can make while designing a superhero costume is making it too leathery.
  3. Somehow they managed to make the leather even worse by mixing it with armor. This would be fine, however the chest isn't armored.
  4. Can someone please explain the gloves?
  5. The lightning bolts admittedly look better than wings would, however, as you may be able to see, they start at the bottom of the circle and not the middle.
  6. The opening for the mouth goes too far back-- it would be nice if this were reduced an inch or two.
  7. They replaced the awesome yellow lines that are currently in the comics with black ones.
  8. Lastly, the overall costume is far too dark. This would be a great color for Wally's (traditionally darker) costume, but a better design for Barry would be:

    (This is a possibility, too, as it's marked CW)


What are your thoughts on the costume?

By the way, my avatar is what it looks like with more editing.

It's definitely more red, which is nice. Lightning bolts look odd though. In the new 52 they're more jagged.

I don't understand the hate for the costume. Jesus. It's a damn good suit and it's bound to change. We may get this for awhile because armor is cool now for heroes. I think we'll see the spandex ring in the future of the show without a doubt.

I would actually prefer more armor, I was just saying the mixed is awful :p
