That n00b.
Hi there, this is your resident plastic Sith dropping by.
"Why?" you might be tempted to ask.
Let's look.
Now, as some of you might know, some of the ammunition for trolls is "You have no life since you staff here" or some derivative.
Once, a former member of the TNT staff told me after their
resignation "When am I ever going to tell someone 'I was a TNT Op.'?"
Well, this Sith has popped by to let you all know that he has found an answer to that question.
You guys are familar with money, right? Bills, coins, the works.
Das moneys
So you might also know that you kind of need it to survive/go to college/etc.
That is why I resigned. I was applying for more work and likely would not have time each week.
What does all this have to do with my point?
Good question.
Now, in my search for jobs, there were sections on applications that asked for any volunteer work.
I asked, and found out that pleasantly, the 500-odd hours I spent staffing TNT DID in fact count as volunteer work.
Now, it may not be the same where you live or at every job. But I have found out first-hand that yes, people count staffing as an accomplishment worthy of mentioning on a job application.
So, that's my point in a nutshell. This stuff can and will help you out in the future. It might never end up on a job application, it might end up on all of them. But there are many things you can take away from staffing. Confidence, problem-solving, and loads more.
So that, ladies and gentlemen, is what I wanted to relay:
You can and will come across situations where people will count staffing here as something valued.
Thanks for reading this, and special thanks to PickYerPoison for the post-format idea/other stuff.
