Basically, I have a micro SD card that I believe has become corrupted that the computer is requiring me to format before I can read and use it. However, these files are very important and losing them would be fairly horrible. So, if someone could please help me by telling me how I could possibly recover these files??? I don't believe it is the card reader as my other micro SD works fine.

I can provide most any detail necessary for you to help me. Thanks much in advance for any help :X

PS: sorry if this seems needy but I actually am really desperate for help right now as those files were actually REALLY important >.<

If you still need assistance, are you certain that you need to format it in order to access it? It tells me that I need to format mine all the time, but I just exit out of that window, and can easily access my files.

If you are unable to access the files at all, not seeing them at all, can't say I can really help you out there... My advice would be to google it.

On the other hand, if you can see the files, but can't do anything to them, you might have it locked. I would advise looking at the SD Card (Not the micro SD) and checking to see if the lock switch is on.

Sorry if I wasn't much help. I hope you can recover those files, Blob.

Hmm, this doesn't give too much to go by. Usually you are asked quite often to format SD cards, just don't need to. You really should just be able to exit out, go to your computer, and open your SD card folder.

If you cannot open your SD card folder from your computer/docs. Unplug your SD card and plug it back in and screenie what pops-up.

Tried, doesn't help :/
It may be because it's a micro SD? But it tells me that I need to format it and I can't access the files or read them or whatever. I know there are some programs that may be able to pull off deleted and formatted files but I don't trust them x[
Have you tried putting an sd-card into another computer/laptop or another sd-card reader, or tried putting it into a phone that has a mini sd-card reader and then plug the phone into a computer/laptop and transfer them that way?

If you look at your SD card, not the Micro SD card, is there a switch of some sort that can be found on the side of it?
I've made sure that Write Protection is turned off :p

I think I found the problem with not being able to format: The computer detects the micro SD as being 30 MB, when in reality it is 16 GB. I just need to find a way to communicate to the computer the correct size.

Hm. Well, I had an SD card that had the same problem once. Not a micro, though. I don't get this, but it worked when I put it into a sort of USB thingy that allows you to slot an SD card into a USB slot. If you can find a Micro SD to USB converter, you could give that a try.

Hm... Can't say I've experienced that before. But, it does sound like the micro SD is corrupt, if that's the max size it reads...

The size of the filesystem on the micro-SD card is generally stored somewhere near the start of the card. The fact that this is wrong isn't exactly reassuring.
Formatting will delete all data on the card. More precisely, it'll delete the parts of the filesystem which know where your files are.
It sounds like you just need to run chkdsk (Googling for instructions on this will help!) , and if that doesn't work look into data recovery. This StackExchange page provides some information on both.

This all assumes that absolutely nothing can read it. DJJonosound's suggestion is worth testing out first.
