Lava flow when nobody online

I logged on when there were no people on rof and noticed that although the wave timer had only a bit of time left, the lava had barely flowed. Look at my image and note the round time left:

Apparently, lava doen't flow when there are no people on the map. I can't really verify it though becaue I rarely log on when there were no people on.

Apology for the weird grammar, but the key between my A and D became broken, and I had to make do without it.

Most likely it might be only this particular map. Going to jump on and test this myself.
Looks like ALL timers must flow completely before this bug happened.

Tested one map and all lava flowed fine.

I logged onto RoF alone the other day, and I thought that pausing after the end of the previous round if nobody was one would be a nice thing to have.

I've had this happen 2+ times before, recall once on Paradise somewhere in June/July last year, but I was too lazy to report it. But I can confirm this does indeed happen.

But there was no one on RoF at the time, yes? That's the important part if I'm not mistaken.

I think every server freezes, when doesn't have players on it.

This happens all the time, late nights, when nobody else is on. I figured it's not a glitch but intentionally scripted to conserve resources(?). No sense flooding an entire map when nobody is around to enjoy it. I'm not sure but i think that if it's mid round, it doesn't flood until the next lava timer goes to 0:00. At least it will give the player time to build a place once they sign in.

Chunks are unloaded when no player is in them, so there aren't any physics updates when no players are in the map. This is part of vanilla Minecraft.
