Spout is a form of a client mod - but different: It is an official Minecraft client that you run *instead* of your normal client.
Tl;dr: Download Spoutcraft, run it, and play on Primordia with many, many enhanced features you will not have if you do not connect with Spoutcraft.
Many people get better FPS when playing, so we recommend you give it a go!
