After over 6 months without a CS:GO Major, the time has come. For the second time, a Major is coming to North America! Hosted by ELEAGUE, located in Atlanta, Georgia. The week-long competition will begin on Sunday, January 22, 2017, and will conclude on Sunday, January 29, 2017.

The Legends:
These teams placed in the top 8 in the previous CS:GO Major. They were awarded "Legend" status, and were not required to go through a Qualifier process.

SK Gaming
Team Liquid
Virtus.Pro
Fnatic
Astralis
Flipsid3.Tactics
Natus Vincere
Gambit eSports

The Challengers:
These teams had to endure a grueling Qualifier process in the Americas, CIS, and European regions.

FaZe Clan
GODSENT
Mousesports
North
OpTic Gaming
Team EnVyUs
G2 eSports
HellRaisers

The Grand Final for this tournament has already shaken things up.

Virtus.Pro and Astralis have made it to the Finals. So far, the map played was Nuke, leading to a VP victory. Astralis seem to be in close contention for the remainder of the maps, though.

I'd have to say, I think Astralis can ride an adrenaline wave and finish this 2-1. With VP riding the high from winning Nuke, the plow might not be able to be stopped.

It went the distance, it went all 3 maps, and Astralis are your 2017 ELEAGUE Champions!

Their first Major Finals, and now their first Major championship, they were the underdogs coming into the first map, but showed strength and resilience in the remaining 2 maps.

The scoreline for the maps:

Map 1 - Nuke
Virtus.Pro 16 - 12 Astralis

Map 2 - Overpass
Astralis 16 - 14 Virtus.Pro

Map 3 - Train
Astralis 16 - 14 Virtus.Pro

Match-up MVP: Markus 'Kjaerbye' Kjærbye

Legends:
Astralis
Virtus.Pro
Fnatic
SK Gaming
Natus Vincere
Gambit eSports
North
FaZe Clan
My prediction for legends: Astralis, Na'Vi, Team Liquid, OpTic, VP, SK, North, and Gambit.

Bold as bold can be.
Your prediction was almost on point! Only Fnatic and FaZe screwed up your results. Liquid and OpTic ended up finishing 11th and 12th, respectively.

What an exciting Major, so glad I was able to catch what I could out of it.
