Yes, you can safely remove Trusted rank now. But that would be higher requirements and longer trial for operators.

Server staff and ranks are mainly managed by the Directors (and controllers too) and it's just turned out that Trusted is no really longer needed on the current server lineups, but it works on AoD. At least in the case of DoD we found it was pretty much useless and they weren't able to do much at all, so we replaced it with a slightly more powerful Trial Op rank that does a better job of training them than the old trusted rank. There's a chance it will come back, and that'll be if the need is there.

Well, technically though the TrialOp is rather just an Operator still on trial with less power, rather than its own rank, as you dont get it "permanently"

Just throwing in my 2 cents here,
I honestly would be saddened if we lost the trusted rank compleatly. Trusted has always been the very first step on the ladder of staff, and I think it would be a mistake to get rid of it.
