If you can get the stinking video to work, yes that is me at the start with the long hair talking about zyzzyvas. Bloody nasty weevils, those zyzzyvas.
Basically, Queensland (the North-East state of Australia) has a spelling bee each and every year, hosted by the Courier Mail which is the state's newspaper. Each participating school nominates five students for each category that they have students in, which is junior (Grades 1-3), middle (4-7) and senior (8-12). I got into the senior category and won the thing :)
I got an iPad 2, a trophy that is basically a glass book, a Capilano honey gift pack (speling "bee", hur hur) and a $500 WoW Sight and Sound gift voucher with which I bought a laptop with (the same one I'm using right now to type this :))
I beat them Grade 12's, 11's and 10's good. This was last year and I'm going to try to get into the competition again this year, so wish me luck! ;D
