I am very interested in how civilization arose. I believe it was when people learned to make small sacrifices themselves, in order to better a group of people. In Blocktokpia I have seen the same situation of the arisal of civilization take place. This time however, early man is replaced by gamers, and savages are replaced by the people who hide behind the anonymity of the internet to cause pain and suffering to others. Although this may seem overly dramatic, I believe there is an important lesson to be learned here for the future, and how to deal with many of the problems of the internet. Because of how open of a game Minecraft was, we were able to add on to it and create something even more wondrous. Personally, I feel that I am very qualified to speak at Minecon. Although I am only 15, I have held multiple Student Council posts, and have a deep love for literature and speaking. I believe my speech would give an interesting insight to the video game, as well as promote more servers to follow our lead.

Summary
I am extremely dedicated to a unique Minecraft gaming community named Blocktopia. We run 6-7 different servers including zombie, lava, and tnt on classic, and premium pvp, smp and a lava survival server. Recently I began looking into what it takes to keep this server together. What I realized is that people are doing work, and sacrificing their time, so that everybody has more fun. We have developers who put many hours into programming servers that everyone benefits in, and operators who have to slog through ban appeals and keep the servers safe from trollers and cheaters. Together a group of people have worked to create a refuge from everything that is bad on the internet, and is fun for everybody. It is an amazing example of community sacrifice, that creates benefits that far outweigh the cons. Video
