Hey there!

Recently I've been looking about and decided I wanted to build myself a gaming PC. I've been looking around the market for some good parts and this is what I've come up with so far. I'm spending $730-ish on the new parts, but total costs are around $850-$900 (using some spare HDD that we've got lying around/my current ones/RAM lying around,etc.).

Specs:

Case: Amazon.com: NZXT Phantom 410 Mid Tower USB 3.0 Gaming Case - White ~$99~
Motherboard: Newegg.com - ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS ~$190~
CPU: AMD FX 4-Core Black Edition FX-4170 (FD4170FRGUBOX) ~$120~ (4.2GHz stock, with reports of 5.1GHz when overclocking)
PSU: Amazon.com: Corsair Gaming Series 600-Watt 80 Plus Certified Power Supply Compatible with Intel and AMD Platforms - CMPSU-600G ~$80~
and probably the best....
GPU: Amazon.com: EVGA GeForce GTX 660 SUPERCLOCKED 2048MB GDDR5 DVI mHDMI DP Graphics Card 02G-P4-2662-KR: Computers & Accessories ~$230~
See further down le page.

Pretty sure these parts all work together, if they don't please tell me. I'm open to reccommendations, etc. but please no Intel fanboys going "omg u waste ur moniz on crappeh AMD CPU". Anything else I need?

Thank! c=

So everyone is an Intel fanboy? xD Nice.

I changed some things, but I'll list out all of the parts.

Case: Amazon.com: Azza Genesis 9000W Full Tower Case, White (CSAZ-9000W): Computers & Accessories ~$170~
CPU: AMD FX 4-Core Black Edition FX-4170 (FD4170FRGUBOX) ~$120~
Mobo: ASUS M5A97-EVO R2.0 Motherboard [M5A97-EVO-R2]: PC Case Gear ~$125~
PSU: Amazon.com: Corsair Enthusiast Series 750-Watt 80 Plus Bronze Certified Power Supply Compatible with Core i3, i5, i7 and platforms - TX650: Electronics ~$85~ (Can someone please tell me if it will work with AMD? Honestly I don't think there are PSUs designed for different brands but just want to be sure.)
GPU: Amazon.com: Gigabyte AMD Radeon HD 7950 3GB GDDR5 DVI-I/HDMI/2x Mini-Displayport PCI-Express Graphic Card GV-R795WF3-3GD: Computers & Accessories ~$300~

Totals $700, which isn't bad, especially seeing that the GPU is the 2nd best model from AMD.

Also I just want to clarify my decision for AMD.

A 4.2GHz stock clock speed processor is an incredible bargain for only $130 from AMD. It's Intel counterpart is $300+. 'Nuff said.

Ok, so I considered it and I've decided on Intel.

Case: Same as the above.
CPU:Newegg.com - Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4000 BX80637I53570K ~$220~
GPU:Amazon.com: Gigabyte AMD Radeon HD 7970 OC 3GB GDDR5 DVI-I/HDMI/2x Mini-Displayport PCI-E 3.0 Graphics Card GV-R797OC-3GD: Electronics ~$400~
PSU:Amazon.com: Corsair Builder Series CX 750 Watt ATX/EPS 80 PLUS (CX750): Computers & Accessories ~$65~ (750W PSU for only $65, it's a nice deal xD)
Mobo:Amazon.com: AS Rock LGA1155 DDR3 SATA3 USB3.0 Quad CrossFireX and Quad SLI A GbE ATX Motherboard Z77 EXTREME4: Electronics ~$159~
Newegg.com - ASRock Z77 Extreme4 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard ~$105~ (cheaper, roughly same features. xP

Total cost of these parts: $800
Total (including some spare RAM I have around, HDDs, etc.: Roughly $950

Not sure if I should buy the 7970 (core clock of 1000MHz =D) or an nVIDIA GeForce GTX 670, anyone got suggestions? (I'm a gamer who does commentaries and edits/renders at high quality, if that helps at all. xD)

Thanks! c=
