osu! is a rhythm game based on a DS game called "Elite Beat Agents" and customized by "peppy". The game has a variety of game modes and also a multiplayer function to play with friends. You can download thousands of customized and editable beatmaps that are made by other players so that you can play whatever songs you would like. You can also build your own beatmaps by using its built-in editor! Overall, it's a pretty good rhythm game to pass the time when bored and such.
Gameplay
There are currently 4 playable game modes that osu! has. osu!, Taiko mode (based on the rhythm game "Taiko no Tatsujin"), Catch the Beat, and lastly osu!mania [based on numerous games (ie, Guitar Hero, Beatmania, DJMAX, etc.)].

Darn, I was thinking of making a thread about this awhile ago... xD

Anyways...
I got this awhile ago as well after seeing some friends messing around with it.
All I can really say is that it's pretty good, though it takes a fairly long while to actually get used to the controls and the speed in which the game is played at. (I failed so many times when I first tried it.)

You can get it both for the Smartphones and the PC, which is nice.
But the touch-controls are so much easier to control and get used to; using a mouse just doesn't feel right and tends to make me fail at everything.
The gameplay is even easier when you have a drawing pad; it's more versatile then a mouse.
If you do decide to download this on the PC, I suggest moving the cursor with the mouse, and pressing the X or C keys when trying to get a beat; its an easier solution I feel then just using the mouse.

Osu really needs more players. I'm always afraid that they may not have enough money to continue to support the game, which panics me from time to time.
Glad this thread was able to spread the word of it a bit.
Seriously: its a good rhythm game. Try it.
