I would like to thank Jkang for making this whole post look marvelously and neatly worded.
Alright, I've been meaning to bring this up for awhile now, so I’m sorry in advance if I’m pulling a JKangaroo here, but something needs to be said.
I want to bring up the fact that there has been something in the works for some time now, completely unofficial, and in no way that what I’m about to say involve the current Blocktopia project at hand, as it is purely something we have been doing on the side and wanted to share with the rest of the community, and it is most likely the reason you are reading and responding to this thread now:
We want to present: Infected – Premium Zombie Survival
The idea behind “Infected” has been in play for 2 – 3 weeks at most, with UltimateBudgie and Mikey being the masterminds behind the projects start, and a number of people have been taken on to assist in the server’s growth in testing and producing ideas to better it.
Our Goal?: To make “Infected” as enjoyable as Classic Zombie Survival can be in Premium. However, you cannot perfectly recreate Classic in Premium, and because of that, we’ve had to make some changes to make such a server work; but please, no random assumptions or speculations on what had to be done, please.
Currently “Infected” has been trying to get as close to Classic Zombie as possible:
- Sprinting has been completely disabled: we have reduced hunger from 20 points (10 muttons) to 6 points (3 muttons), and this hunger does not regenerate or go away, but remains at 6 points.
This was to disallow players from using large jumps, or running at speeds different from everyone else.
- You do not take damage: Your hearts will always be at a max, so you’ll never end up facing a game over screen by being killed by players or because of silly situations; anything that would ruin the experience. You can’t punch people, people can’t punch you, and all fall damage has been negated, It’s as simple as that.
- Block placing and breaking is also as instant as it could possibly get: think of Creative Mode. A system’s in place to have the choice of blocks available as close to Classic’s as possible, as well as putting a restriction system in place where Humans can only place upwards of 50 blocks, and Zombies with 3, though beta is beta: anything can change.
Though “Infected” may be the idea of bringing the idea of Zombie back from the dead after Classic’s fall, but in the end, it’s a completely new server. Imagine this as a new slate: A “reimagining” of Zombie. It’s not the admins shaping this new server, but we, the players. Classic Zombie has fallen, there is no going back to that, and there’s no use dwelling on the past about it. What’s done is done, and let’s leave it at that.
