So you're new to plug.dj, eh?... Wait, "what is plug.dj?" you ask?... Well...

What is plug.dj?
Plug.dj empowers people from around the world to share music in a fun, real-time, community-driven environment. It is a website dedicated to growing positive international communities for sharing and discovering music.

Getting Started
First, you will need to create a new account, or reactivate your previous account on the new website.
Clicking Sign Up will prompt the following window to follow you on screen. Once you have entered the required information, you will be asked to select an avatar and a username.

*Avatars can be unlocked, purchased and changed with plug points. Your username can not be changed*

After Sign Up, you will be taken to the Communities List and a tutorial will be offered on the right side of the screen. Ignore that and follow my tutorial instead.

Communities
Communities are individual rooms where most of the magic happens. Many communities are often dedicated to particular genres of music, but are not always limited to that. Communities appear in order of highest population to lowest regardless of which category you are searching in. Communities are operated by regular users, and anyone can create one.

.~*~***Our Community is located here***~*~.

You can mark a Community as a favorite by clicking on the hollow star next to its population in the top right.

Radio Blocktopia
Welcome to Radio Blocktopia!
Once you successfully join, the first thing you should notice is the current song playing in the box at the top of the screen. If you missed the name of that song you really liked which played a few DJ's back, you can check the room's playlist history by pressing the button of the counter-clockwise clock found at the top right, next to the volume button. Buttons further right of the DJ history button control the entire right-hand drop bar. You can use them to toggle between the chat, the list of members currently in the room, and your position in the DJ waitlist.

The user playing the song will appear in the DJ box at the bottom of the page. To the DJ's right are three choices for rating the current song: Woot, Grab, and Meh.
 • Woot lets the DJ know that you like the song currently playing and causes your avatar to dance.
 • Grab allows you to add the song to your own playlist (and gives the DJ an ego boost).
 • Meh anonymously lets the DJ know that you do not like that particular song/video/genre.
Unlike the old website, Wooting, Grabing, and Mehing will not effect you or the DJ's experience or plug points. It is purely a method for community feedback and expression, and should not be taken personally. You might find that most of the time, other users won't select any of them at all and that's okay too.

On the DJ's left is the choice to join or leave the waitlist.

Playlists

In order to join the waitlist and play a song for the room you must make a playlist. There is no limit to the amount of songs you may have in a playlist, or the amount of playlists. You can use the Search bar to look through either YouTube or SoundCloud and add songs to a playlist once it has been created. You can search by keyword, song title, or with the direct URL.

Once you find a song you would like to add to your playlist, click on it to highlight it and click on the + on to the right and select the playlist you would like to add it to. After its in a playlist, you can edit the song's title and artist, search for similar songs, move it up or down in the playlist, or delete it.

Thats it!

Now you're ready to dive in and rock out with your blocks out!
Some other cool features worth mentioning are the @Mention feature, and the recently played song warning.
The mention feature works in the chat box. Typing @ followed by a user's name will ping them in chat, useful for getting a staff member's attention or in the midst of multiple conversations.
A warning will be displayed at the bottom of the page next to your playlist if the song you are about to play has already been played within the last 2 hours.

I've said this in the last thread, but as a reminder, while all genres can be played in our room, we highly encourage you to vary/expand your musical tastes. Not everyone will like the same genres. And we'd also prefer that you not consistently play the same type of music.

Now, I didn't say this before, but above all else, just remember to have fun. plug.dj is an awesome site to hang out with your friends and enjoy music. Don't spoil the experience.

Hello!

I am really really grateful that you took time to make a new guide for our room. However, I asked Haysagar to do this last night, and I don't want there to be any confusion for new people with two threads. I'm going to lock this one, but I really like your guide, and I appreciate that you made it for us.

Sorry again
