We cling onto the false hopes that - like a burning candle - illuminates us amidst the cold darkness that devour us from the inside. We yearn for its warmth, stretching our arms towards its ambient glow. As the world moves on with its elusive ambitions, we stand dazed under its immobile light, indifferent to the world around us - yet with a single callous gust of wind it departs, leaving behind a sense of numbness as we fall back into the ruthless void, watching as the world recedes away into a singularity —
— and so we lay down in the unforgiving darkness, waiting for the next candle flame amidst the cold, soulless silence.
