RPG Maker VX

RPG Maker VX Ace

RPG Maker XP

A great set of programs! RPG Maker VX, being my first.
Now, I'm putting this in the Gaming Corner, because... Well, a couple of reasons.
  1. You can create your own RPGs! Actually, if you find the right scripts, or make the right scripts, you can even make Action RPGs, Platformers, etc.
  2. You can post any RPG Maker games here! Whether it's a simple, short game, or a long, focused one, feel free to post it below! I'm sure some of us would be glad to test it out for you, or just have a feel on how to create our own. ;)
Well, here's my little story, anyhow;
[panel]RPG Maker VX, being my first game making program, was what got me into Video Game Design. Knowing not every video game, or RPGs for that matter, would be as easy as it could be on RPG Maker VX, I studied it while I could... Until my trial ended. Anyway, this was actually what I was into, right before I learned about MineCraft. I'm surprised I didn't go back to it until now. They even advanced RPG Maker VX, making RPG Maker VX Ace, which I went and got myself![/panel]
I highly suggest this, even if you have no knowledge of creating games! As said above;

I could never finish a game, maybe because of my lack of determination or just laziness. But its a good way to develop your ideas, even see them come to life.
I have the same problem.

I'm going to attempt to get a script that will turn the battle into a sideview turn based one, or with time, like on Final Fantasy VII.

I attempted to do this before, but I failed slightly, due to my lack of understanding. :p

Seems quite a feat, I've tried on RPG Maker 2 (Console Version) a character evolution system which affects the story in 3 different story lines. Sadly with my laziness, I never finished it.

That reminds me.

I've always wanted to have different paths in my game, so it's not as linear, and more replayable.

But then I saw why most video game designers got lazy and almost always stuck with linear storylines. :p

Yeah, because making branching story paths are a pain, but its quite fulfilling when you finish one part of the one of the many story lines :)
