Okay, figured the randomness of this topic would fit in well here.

Anyhow meet Rob Ford, Toronto's current mayor:

These pictures alone say a ton about this man. Recently, Rob Ford has been brought into the spotlight for a silly reason: His silly use of illicit drugs. He is a known alcoholic, stumbling into city hall drunk a time or two. He has even admitted to smoking cannabis in his past (after some denial, that is). But lately, he has admitted to buying and using hard drugs in the past two years (He has been in his office for three).

Why do I bring this information here? Because, I wanted a little discussion with a few known faces on here about general things I should be aware of in the spectrum of politicians, big or small, humorous or serious. Feel free to share your facts!

I heard about this from a Youtube I'm subscribed to a week or so ago. I doubted posting this here, but whatever. He talks about a few other mayors as well. And don't let the video kill the discussion or turn it into a shitstorm for no reason whatsoever cos that's not why I'm posting it.

Being someone who lives near Toronto and works downtown there, I've known many things about this manchild for quite a while. There's much more comedy to his career than what's here, trust me (though some of it is inappropriate to post here).

How Toronto's Totally Deranged Mayor Stayed in Office​

When it came to slashing numbers, Ford was an enormous success. He paid for his office expenses out of pocket, voted against property tax increases, and took away limo and club memberships for his fellow councillors. So it makes sense that taxpayers are fans, even though Rob Ford has also fought a long battle with gravity.

It wasn't until he used his official mayoral seal to encourage people to donate to football scholarships that anyone raised an eyebrow about Ford's behavior. And that's what nearly cost him his job -- raising money for kids while using his mayoral seal. And he still beat the rap and stayed mayor.

That's how tenacious Rob Ford is. Some people weather career-destroying scandals like it's nothing more than a little herpes outbreak -- see Bill Clinton, Kanye West, Anthony Weiner, Marion Barry. Once you realize that Rob Ford is in the same category as a guy willing to run for mayor after sending dick pics, you know that a little crack isn't going to bring him down. Even if the video gets published, Toronto can't force Ford to resign. So we predict he's not going anywhere.

As a Canadian, oh god no please don't post this.

There looking up new things about this everyday. Now they're accusing him of having an "escort", among other things. The "escort" and family obviously denying it and considering suing.

I thought we weren't allowed to talk about this type of stuff, but I guess it's not too too controversial. Anyway, how is this guy still in anywho if people know this stuff? Was he arrested or anything at any point (I dunno anything about Canadian law)? This all seems weird to allow, especially for a place like Toronto (I mean in size, population, etc.)
