Hooray! Slender!
I watched a few videos of it, the ones by PewdiePie, Tobuscus and UberHaxorNova, and finally worked up the courage to play it myself. The internet makes it out to be SO scary, and people usually do find it frightening, but my brain seems to have been put in upside-down or something and I find it quite funny. xD
If you don't know Slender, it's a game by Parsec Productions. The storyline is you're a random person holding a flashlight in one hand and a camcorder in the other. You can zoom in your screen, so that infers that you constantly have the camcorder up to your face, and your flashlight will go out of battery gradually (you right-click to turn it off).
You're in a forest at night (seriously, who's stupid enough to do that) which is quite small, has a fence around it and has a lot of trees. For some reason you have to collect 8 "pages," which are found at various landmarks in the forest - these landmarks include things such as an
abandoned house, a big gnarled tree and a broken-down truck. There are 10 landmarks in total, meaning that 2 of the landmarks don't have a page on them.
All the time while you are playing, there is the character Slenderman (who I'm sure most of you have heard of - the Minecraft Enderman was based off of him, I believe) who spawns on the opposite side of the forest when you start playing. He is a faceless, long-limbed, tall guy in a business suit with a red tie (everyone know red ties make people scarier). If he gets close to you, your screen (camcorder) will go all static-y. Slenderman CANNOT move while you are looking at him, but looking at him causes your static to get worse and worse. If you take your eyes off of him, he'll be able to move (similar to SCP-173 and Weeping Angels) but your static goes away. If you get too close to him, or look at him for too long, your screen (camcorder recording) will see Slenderman's face (or, thereof, lack of a face) for a few seconds, and then the "recording" will cut out, ending the game.
As you collect pages, noises will start in the background, like thumping noises at regular intervals (similar to that of a dinosaur walking in the distance) and church bells sounding. If you manage to finish the game, you unlock the ability to play in daytime and "$20 mode," which plays a song called "Gimme $20" when Slenderman is close to you (even if you can't see him).
So, what are you waiting for, horror game lovers? Get out there and play some epic Slender!

Yes it IS a horrible song. I agree :D
I've played it four times now (thank God you can mute it and play in a small window :3) and the best I've gotten is 4 pages, which is pretty horrible. xD Good luck!
Update: Now managed to get 7 pages on multiple occasions. I'm gonna get him good eventually.
