General Rules
1: PvP
PvP is allowed, but you may not attack players who do not wish to PvP. Players with [P] are marked as peaceful players. To enable PvP, and to PvP with others at any time, use /pvp enable. After enabling PvP, your name will be marked with [H] and you become hostile. To check if a player is hostile, you may use /pvp check <player>.
Enabling PvP is permanent - staff will not reverse this for you.
Players who are peaceful may still duel (including with those who are hostile), but explicit consent should ideally be stated to avoid ambiguity.
When engaged in PvP, you may not combat log, or attempt to unfairly use server features to bypass PvP. This includes creating a new claim with PvP disabled. You may however run into an already existing claim.
2: PvE
If you are PvE ( [P] peaceful player) , you may not:
3: Griefing
Griefing is not allowed. You may not grief other player builds. You may not grief the wilderness in a way that makes it ugly. You may not destroy blocks above chests
Exceptions to grief rule.
4: Trapping
Trapping of any kind is illegal. This includes spawn killing and Nether portal-trapping.
If you are trapped actively by another player, you may grief out.
If you have been trapped in another player's structure, and can not get out, contact a staff member.
5. Raiding
You may only raid if you have enabled PvP. You may still raid players that are PvE, but you may not kill them.
6: Glitch Abuse
You may not glitch abuse. Ask a staff member if in doubt.
7: Lag machines/ farms/ builds
Any use of lag machines/farms/builds that cause server/client lag will be punishable depending on the severity.
8: Claimblocking
Claimblocking is not allowed and will be reverted without you getting your money back. Blocktopia defines claim-blocking as maliciously restricting players' ability to expand their area of claims and is determined by the date of the claimed chunk.
Hollow claiming is handled separately and is as follows: We will not remove any claims that appear within your hollow claims. They must be stopping your expansion outwards. You must have prior approval by a town's mayor to claim next to another town. We recommend keeping evidence of this approval/agreement.
9: Don't be a dick
While obvious to some, this means that you are not allowed to bully other players, or just being mean for the sake of being mean.
10: Illegal Client Modifications
Client modifications that give any competitive advantage over players are strictly forbidden. This includes auto-clickers and anti-afk.

Builds or skins that display NSFW/Offensive content are prohibited
Chat Rules
Following these rules is a crucial element in keeping our server safe and fun for everyone, regardless of age. Chat rules relate to all available channels unless otherwise stated within the rule itself: from general chat, local chat, town/nation chat, party chat, /msg, as well as town/nation names, signs, written books, item names, etc.
1: Spamming
Spamming is prohibited in all available channels. This includes sending repeated messages, sending different messages with quick succession, character spam, sending repeated messages in all, or majority caps.
2: Offensive Chat Topics
This includes any offensive content in conversation in any form that is prohibited in all available channels. This includes topics such as politics, religion, acts of violence, suicide/self-harm, and other serious and triggering topics. Hate speech, sexist or homophobic statements, or derivatives thereof are not tolerated. Swearing is allowed as long as not excessive.
3: Unnecessary Drama
All player-related drama is to be dealt with outside of public chat channels. This also includes discussing your own punishment or someone else's in chat. If you have any questions please contact Blocktopia Modmail in the Blocktopia Official Discord server.
4: Advertising/ Unauthorised links
Advertisements of other Minecraft servers, giveaways of non-Minecraft items, social media/content creation channels, or things of similar nature are prohibited without prior approval from Admins. This includes advertisements in all available chat channels, signs, written books, item names, in the town/nation, /res, etc. Advertising in-game trades or shops is allowed.
5: Non-English in the general chat
English is required in all public chat channels. Other languages are permitted in private channels.
6: Use of Slurs
Slurs aren’t tolerated on the server. This includes any offensive words, phrases, comments to a player regarding ethnicity, race, religion, sexual orientation or disability. If you are unsure which words are offensive, contact a moderator in the Blocktopia Discord Server.
7: Respect the staff
Decisions made by staff are final. If you disagree with them, take it in private, or with a higher member of staff.

- Raid other players.
- Steal from other players.
- This would also include picking up items that other players drop on the ground, either by accident or due their demise.

- Players are allowed to modify builds if the area is clearly vacant. This includes areas that may have been lit up with torches or other light sources but do not show signs of active building or development.
- You may modify blocks to get access to public tunnels. This does not mean you are allowed to grief clearly player made blocks to gain access to raid other players.
- (You would be allowed to mine into an open Nether Network to gain access, and then kill other players. You may not grief to gain access to an otherwise closed off area, and then kill or steal, this would be illegal.)
