Spectating System?

I know it's late/early but I have thought of something for RoF.
Would a spectating system be able to be implemented?
Although I'm not sure how practical this would be or if even anyone would use it. But hey I figured I would throw out the idea to see what others think of it.

It's possible, hunger game servers have that function.

If a mode similar to DeathRun was added (suggested in RoF by Butamou), then there could be spectators when the participants died.

Those "spectators" would just spawn in the top of the map, in a glass box/tunnel with bedrock just like in Classic.

I think this wouldn't be too hard to do, actually. They'd just have to make it so the "spectators" are vanished and can't place or break blocks, make them unable to get cookies.. Doesn't seem too hard to me.

However, I don't think there's really a point to this idea. Why would you want to spectate people building houses, or AFK'ing in them, surviving lava? It may be fun sometimes, but I don't feel like it's really worth it. Thanks for suggesting an idea however :D

Actually, it may be one of the plausible suggestions to fix the "people who can't escape spawn once there's lava issue."

Via, maps of annoyed+ moods will be impossible for those to escape the spawn. A spectating system could be one of solutions to stave boredom. If this does happen I would also suggest it to allow the area to have building permissions to crafter+. Things like a bed, signs, etc to also allow amusement amongst those in the spectating area.

I think it's certainly an interesting idea, can't speak for it's functionality. I know some players just like to watch, so I don't suppose it'd be a problem as long as spectators didn't get cookies.
