I thought it would be a great idea to start a thread where people can share their stories with everyone else. You can tell things like how you found us, how you got where you are now, proudest moment, favorite server, things you've done for the community, etc..
Of course you can make it as long/short as you want.

I might post something myself later.

Now this is the story all about how
My life got flipped, turned upside down
And I'd like to take a minute just sit right there
I'll tell you how I became blocktopia's heir!

When I was 14, I was really into Lets Plays. I watched ElectricalBeast play classic zombie, but at the time, I didn't care enough. Later, I watched another lets player play minecraft, and I was like "I want minecraft." Late October 2011, I tried some zombie servers, and then I remembered the exact name of the server EB played: Blocktopia Zombie Survival. I played that for about five days, until I finally quit out of frustration that I couldn't get better. So I looked up "blocktopia" and found lava survival. My first round of lava survival wasssss fantastic. It was halfpipe and the walls of the map seemed so huge to me. I tried to make a house on the ground, but when the lava started to flood, I pillered up one of the walls and I looked over the lava the rest of the round, because there wasn't an op on the server to raise it.

For five weeks, I played lava all the time. I was really, really quiet(Think the exact opposite of how I am now). I did pick up enough of the rules to answer every single question someone asked. Because I was such a super helpful dude, the classic lava controller+ of the time(consisting of BrickWolf and Jayp94 as director, and Ogarci, dirtcake, and trngl3087 as controller) handpicked me to trusted. I still have the pm explaining to me what I was supposed to do as trusted.

Trusted was the best time I had in the community. I had the rank for three weeks, and it was top. During the week of christmas, I hit 70 hours that week, and on that Friday, I was promoted to op. Two months after, jay logs onto the server, talks about pokemon a bit, and then promotes me to vetop.

From there, it's a flurry of things. I stayed as classic vetop for a good 8 months. During that time, I was gifted premium minecraft by Marnixxie. I started to get more active on the(now long gone) Adventure and Tournaments server. When Dragosh98 was promoted to HC of A&T, he handpicked me to op, and then later made me the (only) vetop until it closed. When A&T closed, I was already offered controller of RoF(which was then about to be released, under the name of LSMP). Knowing this, I resigned from classic zombie survival(which I was trusted on for a couple of weeks) to free up time, and took my first controller position on lsmp...and then a week later, trngl was moved to director of classic lava, with me as controller.

So here I am, mr duo controller. Two months pass, I take on a brief stint as JtE op, and then decide to resign from everything except classic lava. Month after that, trngl resigns, and, after almost a year and a half since I joined, I ran Lava. And man, I loved it.

But, well...classic was pretty bad at that time. So a month later, it closed! I was offered controller at places, took them, and thennnn Qube resigned from JtE director, prompting both me and superstein to be promoted to director. Month after that, I was offered admin, and said "ok".

Oh, and at one point, I said "Thanks man!" a lot.

Fin~

April 28, 2011, occasionally played freebuilds but they weren't that fun. I remembered seeing lava survival on the server list, so i decided to check one of them out, so i tried Blocktopia Lava Survival for about 2 days. Then, I stopped playing minecraft for a few months. October 2011 (either the 17th or the 7th, don't remember), I decided to try lava survival out again. I started playing and became obsessed. In my earlier days I would get into arguments with staff a lot, but that all changed when i got in one little fight and my mom
Yeah, you get it.

Some free time on Sunday and since I rarely post on the forums and like the idea of this thread, why not?

Ermm where to begin? Hmm, it was late June 2009/early July 2009 and Minecraft was nearly brand new, I played on a unique server named "JTEs Custom Server" which JTE developed it using Perl - the server was pretty popular at the time and had most of the 'well-known' Minecrafters on there like LG_Legacy. Meanwhile, JTE was having some issues with Notch so she sold her software to TheOne and I heard about the new server from LG and went to TheOnes Lava using JTEs software and maps. At that time, there were only about 10 regulars on the Lava Server.

Time went on, Build came out a few months late around Christmas 2009, many friends joined. In April 2010, my favorite server came out, Classic Zombies. At this time, TheOnes was very popular and I met many many people. During the days of 1.0 I was very quiet and just played the game. I never had any want for a rank till way later, but thats another story. In Septemberish 2010, 2.0 Zombies came out. I started to talk more and become more 'known' on the server. I was an idiot at this time and broke silly rules like lag-pillaring and glitching. I was banned twice for auto-bans (the system sucked, warns never went away.) I got unbanned luckily both times. I was starting to clean up my act and then my brother went on zombies using WoM and I got banned because of the same IP yet again. At this time, the Head Administrators at the time were debating to globally ban me, I very luckily dodged that ban. (Hehe) After being that close to never seeing the community again, I talked to my brother and made it clear that he cannot come on anymore. I also cleaned up my record very well.

I went through numerous applications on Zombies with multiple getting denied and then finally getting accepted. I held my Trusted position for about a month (ironically after all the times I was denied) and then got Operator. I held my Operator rank a very long time, becoming the 2nd oldest Op on the server. (Behind Theodorre I believe.) I became the Official Meeting Recapper in Mid 2012 and held up until October 2013.

I remember the golden age of Blocktopia around December 2010 when the community was big, but still a close family. I recall going to the FAP Radios during Christmas time hosted by san00b. The Meetings were so fun back in the day with all the Administrators there (even san) and the after Meeting events hosted by F35. I shared so many laughs with the genuine people of this community from hearing dumb jokes from Enceladus or complete inappropriate black humor from Megatron or Dead.

As time went on, Mojang fucked up Classic (dumb mistake Mojang tsk) and the player count dwindled not just for Blocktopia, but the classic community as a whole. Soon after Blocktopia ended the beloved run on Classic that we had. After that, many great friends left but I stuck around just to see what would happen next. UB and I started to talk a lot and the PZS/Infected idea was born, which got so close to being accepted. (And me being Director; you would have all cried xD) Unfortunately, the idea was declined and kind of brought down my hopes. I left the servers and most of the forums a month or so ago, but still and will always lerk around the shadows of the community.

From a near global ban to a near director position to the oldest player in the community, I've certainly had my ups and downs here, but my time here has been a great.

The End.

I was born in Cieszyn, Poland on the early morning of October 26th, 1998 to my mother Alicia and my father Jarek. The whole birth took about 2 hours, but I came out without making a single sound. My parents were really happy to finally welcome their first son and child, Dawid, into the family. However since at the time my parents could not afford or did not have the occasion to take a single picture of me, the earliest photographs of me were made on my 1st Birthday, where I am seen playing with an iron along with my cousin, drinking orange juice straight out of the bottle to the amusement of everyone gathered at the party or going crazy after the party, on the bed, naked. I was happy. Life was great. According to my relatives and my parents, I had beautiful big eyes and I was a really calm toddler. Soon enough, we moved to Rybnik, to live in the same house as my grandparents. I loved it; every single moment of living there. I wish I could go back in time to relive that happiness. I was a small boy who collected pokemon cards, pokemon coins from crisp packets or had a collection of living spiders in jars. Life was sweet, and then school started. I sort of struggled with it at first, but it went alright. At age 6, I found out we would be moving to Northern Ireland soon, in search of a better life. In my opinion life was best where I was, but it was the money my parents were after. Aged 7, I left Poland, and last visited it about 6 years ago. How I miss it. Had to leave all my friends and most of my relatives behind. Aged 13, I stumbled across Minecraft. I bought it, but only a week later I discovered Blocktopia Lava Survival. It was fun, but I moved on. Then I came across Blocktopia Zombie Survival. Got hooked, made friends and gained respect over time, got trusted, failed and got demoted, got trusted again, succeeded and got promoted to op, ZS started to loose players, I was forced to leave, I left, months later ZS got shut down, I returned to the forums, and now we are here.

Umm... I just copy it from my introduction thread:

I joined Blocktopia in 17th June 2011.
Next day I already was crafter in [Blocktopia] Lava Survival.
Next month I was Master here.
I couldn't buy myself premium, so CaramelCow decided to buy it for me.
Araidian convinced him to do so, although he forgot about it all already XD.
So came 18th August 2011 and from that date I was happy diamond miner:
So I was happily lava surviving and SMPing (got Citizen on October 2011 I think),
until WILD PRIMORDIA HAS COME AND CHANGED EVERYTHING! (caps to add effect).
I loved new server. I didn't joined my friends instantly, instead I was part of Gaia till December (November?) 2011.
I mastered crafter line to blacksmith and got promoted to nobility - and moved to Dagon.
It was ~80% classic LS regular playerbase.
Some fun things happened like this:

But little time later it became clear, that Primordia was getting unstable, like drunk mystcraft world.
Both plugins started derping. Some players betrayed their own clans. And them big BOOM has come.
[February 2012].
Blocktopia was never same again. This was period where Blocktopia has changed most for me rapidly.
Some people lost commitment/suffered withdrawl/quit. Classic was newer as popular as it used to be (although there might be other reasons too.).
I stayed here hard like a rock. I never lost hope for a server with lots of plugins although I estimated it to be at ~1.9 full release (lul overshoot XD).
I enjoyed A+T, Solitude and AoD a lot although I missed good SMP server. I was also playing on other classic servers. I reached 1.0 KDR in classic TNT.
On these premium servers there used to be a lot of my friends, but stopped playing here at least in my timezone.
I never liked SMP 4 for begin too harsh in general - Terragon III and many other colonies failed due to insane crime levels (Exaggeration to add effect).
Then Premium LS come - fun server to play. Gave me some more hope for good SMP server.
Suddenly a "Project Sexy" [November 2012] came to existence - a heaven compared to SMP 4 ;).
Rest of stuff you guys know.

----
Now I should write stuff for 2013 year too.
I loved Elysium since its first days, built underground base near Hobbiton (didn't knew about its existence back then).
I got Aristocrat rank since some time later. I joined Snowfall and got kicked out of it (It died out due to boredom/did everything, so I would leave it anyway), so I joined Hobbiton.
In meantime Classic was in deep agony. when classic TNT was shutdown and premium TNT was released.
Few weeks later remaining classic servers got shutdown thus starting fourth era.
Of course that was worse "server shutdown drama" on closure of Classic than Primordia.
Hobbiton became Sancti satellite, as Holy Cake Empire was expanding and expanding.
There was some temporary resistance against Sancti, but now only Wisteria is actively opposing it.
Hobbiton changed its owner to Wisteria, but I stayed loyal to Sancti.
I never applied for staff nor used TS. I just don't need it, also I'm Neutral Neutral - I feel like citizen of Blocktopia rather than server.
Fourth Era of Blocktopia looks bright with our dedicated staff ;)
1.7 is getting rewritten from basics - what could it mean for Blocktopia? Let see....

It was November or October of 2010, don't remember which one. I was introduced to minecraft as a whole by my closest friend, Lime_Zone, whom I have known since the day of his birth. He told me to come to TheOnes lava survival. As I was about to meet him, I noticed TNT Wars. I popped in for a second, and loved it. LZ messaged me on Skype, telling me to speed up to lava. I left, and joined lava. My memories are vague, but I was once a great lava player, although young and rather...illiterate.
After much time on the zombie, lava and TNT servers, I saw the build server. This was one part of my Blocktopia history that still angers me to this day, due to both my lack of understanding and the lack of evidence against me. I joined the server, and built this lava and water 'picture' on the ground, two circles and an island in the middle. An old op, don't remember who, saw this build after I left. I came on the next day to be banned. Appeals at that time weren't to organised, so, being younger, I went on the forums and was rather hostile. Despite being innocent, I was banned on grounds that deadl0ck didn't like me for being 11, and other ops stood with him. I was never unbanned from classic build, and that frustrated me so much. I actually don't even consider that to be a proper ban, on the grounds that it was ridiculous and unnecessary. (No offence to any ops around that server, but the lack of both evidence and ability make their own opinion kinda sucked)
So I went to TNT. A lot. After I applied once with no references and got denied in Jan 2011, I moved to zombie. After a few months, I ran into another near ban problem. One player spotted me 'flying.' I had been lagging all that morning, and I saw a tree which no one else could. I jumped up and sat there, watching the players run around. Kattzen, vetop at this stage, then said something to me that touched me to this day. He said that I was a 'veteran player who wouldn't hack.' (Love ya katt) After proving my innocence, I realised that I had the potential of becoming staff. That night, I asked several ops for references, all were denied. After much play time and helping, I found my love for TNT again. The story here is long, so I'll cut to the chase. After 4 attempts at trusted, and much growth, I became a staff member for the first time in June 2012. Funnily enough, I was promoted along with superstein, we had both been talking about it a lot on Scottish kilt map build. 'Class of June 2012' we called it, and since then we've been great buddies.
Then there's now, almost 3 years on, and one hell of a ride.
(Fun fact, I was the trusted who taught Terre to use the pistol, look where he's at now)
Sorry for the lengthiness, but here's meh story.

While in 2011 I used to play in another community, I staffed there and it was all fun, though soon some other high admin decided to take all of the ranks away from operators and cleared everything because of some brony invasion which I suppose he didn't like. I left, I was looking for a new server and I saw blocktopia, at the time I thought it was blacktopia and so I joined the classic lava survival, because who doesn't like the idea of lava survival atleast, it sounds dangerous and interesting. I soon left out of boredom and after I got banned for... (we don't even know due to no proof from my ban appeal that I made once I was staff on another blocktopia server)
Then I looked into the zombie survival server, and I was in-love and hooked. I played for a while, every day after school with my boyfriend and tried bringing some of my friends to play with me. I always thought about applying for trusted on zombie but I wanted to make sure I could do it, so I played for months to make sure I understood how staff handled things and how things worked in that server, during the summer of 2011 I had to stop playing classic because my computer then could not handle it, but soon as I got my laptop from school I played, and played and played and then when I finally decided I was going to apply for trusted, I asked Dessern5. Dessy was my first reference and I was very scared to ask him, though in the end I got the reference and my mind wen't (ASDFGHJKLILY) http://blocktopia.net/forum/threads/darkhenders-trusted-application.9178/

I am so happy for all of those who referenced me when I wanted to be a trusted, within a week of my trusted trial I was promoted to operator.
Near the end of zombie, (around February when it started to die) I applied for JTE trusted.
http://blocktopia.net/forum/threads/darkhenders-jte-trusted-application.10517/
(I really looked up to you both, crashb23 and Biblius)
I staffed as a trusted for 3 months on Jte along side my good friend DieLorelei (Trusted buddies)

I then resigned as zombie closed down, I was getting more interested in the Rituals of Fire server(again).
At first on the rituals of fire server, I was interested in applying for operator though that was in 2012 when I first heard about it from iiDeathCookies on September 30th.
But after a good few months around December I think... I got uninterested due to /kit being taken away and no more spawn homes.
But after a while, I decided to give it a go and see how the server was then- I was addicted and I played almost all day and all night on that server, I finally applied for operator with again my first reference being Dessern5
http://blocktopia.net/forum/threads/darkhenders-operator-application.11836/

GmK made my day for giving me a +1 because of my avatar (even if it was a joke it made me happy)
And then I got accepted!
When I was accepted.. they gave me a heart attack, It was the most scary promotion I've ever gotten in Blocktopia.
And now, I still stand staffing the lava server after 5-6 months.

\o/ yay long story that jumps a little everywhere.

During the summer of 2012 I noticed my brother constantly on his laptop. I soon became nosy and interested in what he was doing, and turns out he was playing some nerdy, pointless game. Or so I thought! I decided to surprise him by signing up to minecraft classic, and entering the server he had been spending a lot of his time in. I was then hooked. I used to go about various minecraft build servers, building big orange squares that I called houses and having lots of fun despite my inability to build!

Soon after, in December of the same year, my brother had started playing other servers, and introduced me to Blocktopia Zombie Survival. I loved it, and immediately looked up to the staff, I used to spend hours playing what I now thought was the best game ever! I decided to apply for Trusted and was accepted, and stayed Trusted for a while before being demoted for misconduct. This was quite a blow, and I felt like I needed some time away from Blocktopia. In this time, a lot happened (Let's just say that's my Caznowl story) and I returned to Blocktopia in March 2011 with a lot more minecraft, and staffing experience.

When I joined TNT, they were quite lacking in staff numbers so when the applications were opened, I decided to apply. After being accepted and helping out as a Trusted for 4 weeks, I was then promoted to Operator which I absolutely loved. I would occasionally play zombies but rarely did I play Lava. I fell in love with TNT and the staff around me and couldn't see myself leaving any time soon. A thousand wonderful experiences (1 year and 1 month) later Sam promoted me to VetOp. At this time, classic was beginning to die out, and therefore we saw some of the higher staff of TNT resign. This hit me pretty hard as soon there were not many people to talk to, which you can probably tell, is what I love to do!

I made tonnes of friends during this time, my two closest being KingSam and Marnixxie so when they packed up and ditched me I wasn't too pleased! ;) I had such a good experience with these two, even getting to meet Marnixxie at his town in The Netherlands.

Although I'm attempting to keep some chronological order in this post, I have no idea where this fits in but I began to play Primordia a lot, and loved it. That was my first real experience of premium minecraft servers over here at Blocktopia and because of this experience I was open minded when I heard the TNT server was going to transfer to premium. Since this happened a lot has changed, and I am sure a lot will continue to change is the future.

Now I'm still hooked on TNT, loving playing AoD and BB, and occasionally showing my face in RoF and JtE. I have no intentions of leaving yet, and I'm certainly looking forward to the future!

Over the space of 3 years the nerdy, pointless game which I mocked my brother for playing, changed to a massive entertainment in my life, and I have enjoyed this all to a great extent.

The End.

I don't remember what year or what month I joined apart from feeling like it was a very very long time ago.

I was introduced by Danny to Lava first off when I then switched over to Zombie because I had more fun. I thought the zombies were NPC's until I realised that for NPC's they constantly knew where I was hiding and were amazing at chasing me around.

So I stuck around and attempted to work my way up the ranks as I did. Until the Vetop rank was taken away from everyone and I began to lose interest. So eventually I just let myself be demoted back down to player instead of maybe doing the honourable thing and just asking to be demoted. Truth is though I enjoyed coming online and having the ability to fly about and ban the shit out of people. You can't buy that sort of power :3

When Zombie left I was not as bothered as I would of been back in the day. I miss it now because you want what you can't have. Also I knew whenever I went on Zombie over half the time I knew there was someone to talk to.

So my story is a bit sad. I don't feel quite as connected to the community as I used to. Aside from making funny drawings and adding the occasional witty comment to posts and TeamSpeak. I would prefer things to be the way they used to be where Meetings lasted over an hour and I got very drunk but shit happens!

I enjoy watching everyone expand Blocktopia and making it an awesome place to be. I miss being a part of that but I'm getting old and I cannot keep up that level of interest.

You won't get rid of me just yet though. You all still rock. <3

I think I joined on the 21 October 2010, on a very boring day...
err, I remember being introduced to classic minecraft only a few days before being introduced to this community.
Lava survival was the first server I actually got to play on, being quite a good introduction to the ever growing community at the time. Though being someone who wants constant excitement to enable the slightest bit of enjoyment, I soon grew bored of the server. I tried zombie survival next after that, and admittedly was highly addicted to the thrill of the fast paced rounds. I would have spent almost 16 hours for weeks on end playing zombie survival, leaving almost all traces of a normal life behind.

A few weeks engaged in the Zombie Survival servers, I found myself some free recording software on my mac, and started a shitty youtube series (Which didn't last long). I soon started to explore the TnT wars server, finding myself getting kicked off the server on the first day for being a nuisance (Which is what I get banned for these days). After a while, TnT didn't really appeal so much for me (even though I kicked ass most of the time).

About 3 months after being introduced to this community, I tried to apply for trusted on the Zombie Survival server, only achieving to get 1 reference from a staff member I can't remember. I soon got real depressed and left the community for a long distance of time (I leave this community all the time and never return for months at a time)

After a few months, I started to blend more into the community by getting teamspeak. I met an odd bunch of people (Skittz, some random dude, Jolteon, JayFeather) and kinda joined their entourage... At the time, I was doing that loud high pitched voice acting which people thought was a soundboard.

I soon got banned on the Zombie Survival server for advertising (I was the first to get banned for this apparently) and an anti-advertising rule was set in place. Unfortunately I was banned, out of the server for 3 weeks after the unban set date (Thanks Avant). As a result of this, I kinda felt disgusted at the community, and fell into some minor depression state for a few weeks and ultimately left the community again.

Another few months passed by and I returned to the community website to find a new SMP by the name of 'Primordia'. I was less compelled to join Zombie Survival and more interested in reading the state of affairs for the Primordia server. Unfortunately at the time, I didn't have a premium account and I was too lazy to find a way for my parents could fund my account, so the forums was as close as I could possibly be to the server.

When I did return to Zombie Survival, I planned to try for another trusted application, again with just the one staff reference (Thanks One_One_Two, and funnily enough you were the only staff member who was on a reasonable time for me. The other staff members gave me the reason 'I don't see you enough'). A week into my revival in the community, led me back into teamspeak to find that almost everyone I knew in that old entourage had left. Skittz had disappeared almost without a trace. Because I barely knew anyone in the almost foreign community, I left again, only having returned for about 3 weeks.

About 2 months before the classic servers went down, I returned (as a premium member) once more to find that the community were to remain only a shadow of its previous form, and could only foresee its eventual demise. The classic servers (apart from lava) in my timezone had decreased its average player base from full servers up to 30 members to fledgling numbers of 10-15, eventually decreasing to smaller parties. Without much of a community, I only really lurked on the forums and teamspeak servers.

Just before the closure of the classic servers, I discovered the JtE server. At the time, I expected the server to be some sort of alteration from Primordia (It's a watered down version of Primordia, close enough). Within the first few days, I searched up Sancti (Thinking it would be a great place to fortify especially since I thought this was going to be like Primordia). I soon joined and offered my 'architectural' skills to the town, which got me a high ranked position. I built random shit like a big fountain/lighthouse and some sort of offshore plot station (Which took me about a week to make, and noone uses it anyway).

From there, in short, I became Duke of Sancti alongside ClockworkMyr and JubJubers (Who were inactive most of the time), took a shit load of satellites and placed them under Sancti control (With thanks to Raxo), oh yes... and I got banned.

So basically, in the end, I realised...
This community's the reason why I smoke weed everyday

Alright, heres the story of me.

It was 2012. I was bored and found some videos by a guy named "ElectricalBeast." He made videos on a server called Blocktopia Zombie Survival. I was like, "Yo dawg, this looks cool man." (I did not say that really.) I went on and tried it out. Next was Classic lava survival, but i ran out of cookies and could not respawn so i didnt play. Didnt touch TNT, so i went to blocktopias website, only to find out they had even more awesome servers on Premium like BuildBox, Solitude (It was gone by the time i found the site, but the banner was there still,) and the others. When i got premium, i went to BuildBox, only to get stuck in an older terrain, and not be able to build stuff. So, i ragequited for a few months, only to come back to the super awesome new BuildBox. Now, I'm here. Mostly on BuildBox and JtE.

I first heard about blocktopia when I was on a small free build classic server. About five people suddenly joined and asked if anyone knew when blocktopia would be back up. The admin said some select words I don't care to repeat, and they all left. The next day I looked up blocktopia on the server list. The first one that popped up was lava survival. That was pretty boring and I haven't gone back since. Then I joined classic zombie. That was incredibly fun and I was hooked on blocktopia from then on. Quickly though I found out how bad I really was at parkour, and left for TNT. That was very difficult, but the amaising skill of some people (choas, fedralpolice, some other guy with a cool name) kept me playing for the competition.
Then I bought premium and joined the last smp. That was very fun with lots of murders, and a walrus that I never understood. I really started trying to be involved with the community when I was offered to attend a fireworks show at a jaw-dropping city.
Now I play mainly on JtE and aod.
