Well i need a bit of help (if you coudln't guess.)

for the past week or two a virus kept appearing on my computer called the "redirect virus"

Despite the fact that i'v removed it about 20 times it keeps comming back.

I thought it would just be like that forever, but it appears to be getting worse.


Now at random times a new tab comes up to a completly random website.

Along with that ever 10 - 20 minutes multiple tabs come up on a new window.

In the search bar this is what they say every time

I'v looked around everywhere, but to no avail i cannot find the slightest bit of help.

Any help would be appreciated!

(Just a note, I have ran multiple scans using malware bytes, norton, and tsdkiller but there still hasn't been a single virus to be found.)

Go into safe mode, try scanning with Avast/Norton. I had a virus like this before, believe that was my remedy.

I tried with norton, but to no avail :/ What exactly is avast? Also, is it free?

Avast is free antivirus and IMO better than Norton. However, I know fixing this is something about safe mode >_>

There are people who would leave their computers on because they don't know better. Granted, this is less likely when referring to people on the internet, but still not impossible. What is obvious to you is not always obvious to all.

There's a way to set back your PC to an older file; such as thursday. It should make automated back-ups of that. I don't know where exactly it is but you could try to set it back as far as needed and hope that the virus wasn't on your PC ever since that. (Note; You should probably put any important files on an USB stick or such as they will be lost)

Avira Antivir is a good start as well. You did try googling the virus for specific removal instructions right?

Ok guys, I have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHAT HAPPENED!

My "Guess" Is it wasn't a virus at all. Maybe a file that was needed to run a certain form of application (probobly java or adobe) Was removed, so each time one of those applications was run it would come up with those popups.

All i did was uninstall both of them, and re-install them, and now the popups don't come up.

I came to that conclusion because on alot of sites the popups did not appear, but whenver i ran say a flash animation, video, or game (in a web browser) Those popups came up.

If you have any other ideas on what might have been the cause, and why uninstalling java and adobe, then reinstalling them worked, please feel free to inform me.
