Not a book, but it's a Zatch Bell manga. Read it, it's awesome. :3

I also suggest AGAIN, not a book, but a visual novel; Katawa Shoujo. (Warning, erotic scenes)
wuuub you.
Zatch Bell was amazing.
EDIT: Just realized that I had a dream a while ago that manga's for Zatch Bell existed. My dream is a reality

Reach for the sky/url] (still my favourite biography and book to date)

the two san suggested to me - How to win friends and influence people and the alchemist

Other than that, Terry Pratchett's Discworld series is pretty much my fall-back in terms of what to read. I know Deadl0ck is an avid enthusiast as well.

I'd admit when i was a kid i did love the Artemis Fowl books.

and last off I am slowly working through the individual stories written by H.P Lovecraft

edit: (oh and for humour, Confessions of a gp had me in stitches. Loved it!

I used to love the Hunger Games, but in my opinion the movie ruined it. Not the movie so much, but the movie's fanbase.

I liked the Percy Jackson books (stayed up till 2am reading them over the summer a few years ago)

I read the Deltora books when I was younger.

Night by Ellie Wiesel is also a good one, and the interview with him by Opera almost made me cry.

Lord of the Flies was, although a little slow to start, had a very good message and thats what I love about the book.

Fahrenheit 451 is also a very good book with a very good message.

And Brave New World which, despite the issues in it (such as free love etc.) making me angry, again was a very good book.

And, finally, my hands down favorite book:

1984 by George Orwell. If I had to choose one book that everyone had to read, it would be this book. I had been meaning to read it for a while, and when I finally did, I was absolutely in love with the book (even though I nearly tore the book in half at the last 4 words) Its a truly amazing book and, in my opinion, a work of art.

Right now I'm trying to read both The Republic by Plato and Common Sense by Thomas Paine.

Malcovent is right. Discworld is definately a great series to read, and a wonderful fallback.

In fact I rarely go a day without Discworld, since I have the audiobooks, and use them to fall asleep (and wake up to).

I used to be a big fan of Stephen King, currently, not so much, shit got somewhat... pretentions. Still, Eyes of the Dragon is an excellent read.

Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time cycle
Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth cycle
Darran Shan's Saga of Darran Shan is an excellent read if you want to read about good vampires, not that garbage twilight,
Darran Shan's Demonata is a good cycle too, kid's books, yet in the first chapter of the first book, the main protagonist finds his, I believe little sister but it could be mother, being split open from head to toe by a demon.
Isaac Asimof is awesome
Death gate cycle is good

and so much more I'm forgetting.

Hunger games- my favourite
Eragon
The gone series- now that is an interesting series of books. (everyone over the age of 14 disappear and the kids face threats of hunger, new species and even some kids are gaining powers...)
I used to be in to the diary of a wimpy kid but I guess I've grown out of it.
