First of all, i would like to say thank you for participating, but since we don't have enough active members, i would like to reset The Afterstory.

Now, before all of you ask or complain, this was done with a reasonable explanation.
1. I would like to avoid another random post coming into the roleplay. Thus, making it weird.
2. I would like to make the RP as neat and logical as possible, while making it with a very precise storyline so that the viewers can enjoy it as well.

So... Changes?
Players will need to apply for the roleplay. Yes, that means previous members will need to apply as well.
That's all.

Now, anything from the previous roleplay that we're going to keep? Yes.
1. The Setting.
2. The Map.
3. You're free to use your old RP character from TA.

I'm putting a poll here to see if you agree with this or not.
If not, i really hope that players would be active again.
Though, I am currently managing two RP characters. Which is a burden.
So to prevent some writer's block, i decide to remake the whole thing so that we could start fresh and make the story flow.

Note : If you select that I should restart with a new and fresh setting and location, please post below why and pitch in some ideas.

Thanks.

I know we've been contemplating and discussing this together Sp3ct3r, and we've basically come to a good consensus, I feel it would be good to repeat some of things we noted in our talks so that the general populace and participants of the Afterstory RP can read it over, and perhaps bring up something important themselves.

Anyways, as we all know, The Afterstory has basically died out over the past month or so, mainly due to lack of posts, Defiant's and other's breaking from the story due to specific reasons or another, and so on. Because of this, and the idea that we can't really get the RP back on its feet due to some specific spots already being heavily steeped in a certain character (aka, Defiant), a restart would greatly benefit the core RP experience. It would improve the role-play experience, as well as revitalizing the series so that more people can be introduced to the game and possibly participate in it. Of course, people may not want to stop the original role-play due to their characters already based heavily into it, but with the reset, it affects a greater amount of players, and you can always create a new character, if you do not wish to use the previous one.

Based off of this, I am generally all for a reset of the entirety of The Afterstory role-play. I, honestly, do have a different style of character in mind if the thing resets, which would be a boon if it does happen.
However, there is a major factor that affects this scenario. We discussed this, and, despite The Afterstory occurring before the creation of the Zombie Apocalypse Roleplay; both series of role-play involve a similar setting; this being a Post-Apocalyptic setting. Because of this, it may be highly suggested that we CHANGE the setting in its entirety, mainly as there is an extremely high chance that people do not wish to participate in yet another Post-Apocalyptic role-play scenario; which of course, would devoid a partial purpose of jump-starting the story once again.

In my suggestion, based on some basic story outlines I've already created for myself, the only possible setting I can really wrap my head around for a change in setting and appearance would have to be a
- Steampunk setting.
Now I don't know WHERE the role-play would go in such an environment, but it can propose a series of interesting topics and styles of role-play. It would provide an interesting number of technological, and story perspectives. You can be a rich, high-class type; you can be a Pirate or Captain of your own Zeppelin; you can be a number of interesting roles in such a scenario.

Now, honestly I feel there are a number of better setting replacements besides this, and it greatly helps when you explain what it would add to the role-play, but all in all, setting suggestions can possibly improve on the experience as a whole.

Again, a restart may be the best option for the Afterstory in its current form. However, if it is pleaded, unless a better option can be decided upon, apologies in advance, but thoughts on continuing the story of The Afterstory or the beginning of a new role-play environment may be the better choice at this moment in time.
Again, apologies for the inconvenience if this angers or frustrates you in any way, but please make your voice heard, and thank you for participating in this interesting role-play venture.

Sincerely:
- JKangaroo: Newly appointed Co-GM of The Afterstory.

It might be good to ping any additional people who participated in the RP, so they can post their view and ideas since there has not been many thoughts on the idea Sp3ct3r_2k11
JKangaroo you basically said just about everything I was going to say! XD But yeah, I think a reset would be for the best. Me and Sp3c did talk about it due to the radman thing. Maybe some changes could make it really interesting. (Can't really think of some right now >_<)

Well, we need to set how far away some places are. I remember being on a hill a mile away and Defiant just trekked up to me and touched my willy with his words. I was there like WTF, and I just went along with it. I mean, you don't walk a mile in a second, silly. I imagine him being like Slender-Man.

ANYHOW. I'd gladly help out with the map and keeping order in the thread; saying things like night is approaching or night is here.

We also need some events.

EDIT: If you want to add a disagree rating with my post, tell me why instead of being the disagree vigilante.

First off: You should be more patient instead of acting so rashly against that. I'm not one of those people who post randomly in a few seconds. I take time in writing my posts to follow a certain kind of point, and to explain myself in a better light. In fact, in most cases I normally take up to half an hour just to make a single post, that is who I am. A disagree on a post such as what as just occurred, and one which has no reason for it, shows that. And a "disagree vigilante" with only 1 disagreement rating doesn't mean much; it's only a single rating, and an invisible, online one at that. Your use of the disagreement rating contradicts your edit in your previous post as well. This was not needed and there was no good reason behind it.

Anyways: I was previously writing about, before this alert interrupted me, was on the idea of yours for events.
This is obviously a personal opinion, and one I fairly dislike.
Events tend to cease the RP, forcing the actual players who are RPing to drop what they are doing, in order to be forced into another situation that, for the most part, will appear to be a very unlikely situation. The stops the flow of the story and creativeness of the characters, and the actual progression of the storyline.

I believe I have discussed this with Sp3ct3r briefly, and this is my thoughts on it:
What are we actually doing in a thread like The Afterstory?: We are there to Role-play, to create the story through OUR WORDS AND ACTIONS. We don't need events, we shape these events through each of our individual posts. Planned events CAN easily be just progressed into a main story post, such as finding a vault while searching for a missing captive in the wasteland, as well as other forms and degrees of posts. Along with the idea of planned events shown above in which they stop the Role-play, planned events are not really needed.

The only EXCEPTION I would consider, which I also mentioned to Sp3ct3r, would be when Role-play and interest in the thread begins to slow down slightly, but more often then not considerably. An event in these cases will most likely pique interest once more, and continue the story in a good fashion; but only if the event makes sense.

- Forced events is one of my major gripes about the Zombie-Survival RP. I don't entirely want my character to notice a helicopter when it doesn't really make a whole lot of sense should it be there, as well as the random disappearance of said copter does not continue the story in any way. It actually halts the plans of the individual characters in said RP, and puts a more or less uninteresting turn on things; again in my personal opinion.
- Additionally, the Day/Night cycle did not entirely make sense, especially with it being randomly put in place during this RP fairly late since it's beginning. I don't think we really need to know what Day it is especially when we can just note what time it is (Day, Dawn, Evening, Night, etc) in our own individual posts. I do count this as an "event" per say as it does tend to interrupt the story, kind of forcing everyone to either sleep, or quickly wrap up possible a long RP story chain, and does stunt creativity, especially when not entirely needed.

Now I don't mean to bash on FoxMccloud64 on any of this, but they are legitimate examples for my case, as well as personal things that really turn me off when I'm trying to RP in that world, some which do not entirely make sense. There are a number of other things I could go into, but I will not for the sake of keeping to the main point of my reasoning.

Thank you for your patience.

Also... A big note from me.
Future players will need to be on IRC if they can.
I've set up the IRC with the help of someone just so that you players can have some sort of communication.
It really helps when you're actually interacting with someone or when you have unanswered questions.
The IRC is currently inhabbited by me and midnight afaik. (since the the old RP started to boot.)
So please, use the IRC if you can.
I'm not forcing you guys, but it is highly appreciated if you can.
Thanks.
