As you know, google is doing a 'project google glass' which are glasses that take away the need for mobiles. If you dont know, read this. http://www.techradar.com/news/video/google-glass-what-you-need-to-know-1078114.
Time for pros and cons

PROS:
Easier than picking up your phone
Simply speak, to get info.
Dont email on a PC, do on on glasses
Will be the next step in tech.
Proves futurama wrong.

CONS:

Can be hacked; so people can see what you are looking at.
Takes over your normal vision. Not natural.
Mumbly voices makes it impossible to work.
Going to cost around 1500$ expensive.
Phones will be outdated eventually and we will have to use these.

So, discuss

*driving car, say "Give me directions to [place]" then it brings up a big map infront of your face and you can't see where you're going and crash*

I THINK THIS IS 100% SAFE
XD
It doesn't cover full field of vision. I think everything what it displays is opaque, so you can see trough it.
I think there is workaround, but its in alpha stage too.

Personally I see it as a safety risk. Not only will it be always distracting people, it will make everyone even more antisocial.

Also, I don't like the idea of wearing stuff like that all day. Without something similar to the 'Google Store' thing for Chrome, Google Glass would get pretty bad. With something similar to the Google Store, Glass would probably be easily hackable. Not my idea of revolutionary technology, people. xD

(I pretty much ramble in this)
I dislike this.
Well, I'm not actually talking about the Google Glasses in question, because I find "Glass" quite an interesting concept, and I'm quite interested in where it'll be headed, since I find it a fairly nice piece of tech.
However,
The concept of "Google Glasses" has been around for... Quite awhile now really, as the actual project has been introduced and seen through the original teaser trailer as well as multiple conferences on Google's end, pictures, and other media outlooks.
Yet, it's actually, probably mainly for me, extremely annoying and frustrating to read and listen to a lot of the extremely idiotic, silly, and radical statements and opinions people can give out over this topic just to spur up controversy and tends to lead to unneeded arguments.

First off, people really need to realize this is a showpiece, an idea, the project of "Glass" is in Alpha, and because of that, is constantly changing and being reshaped.
As an idea, it could be a revolution, it could easily become the next big thing, something that shapes the way we look at society and could quickly become a household thing, similar to how "smartphones" suddenly became such a huge deal these past few years.
Yet, of course, like anything, it could just backfire, be a complete failure, and really just not go anywhere.
WE DO NOT KNOW FOR CERTAIN HOW THIS PIECE OF TECH WILL TURN OUT IN THE FUTURE.
Although yes, having skepticism on a topic is good, and in fact one should always have a healthy skepticism over anything, especially consumer products.
However, everything I have seen being talked about specifically about the glass has really just been unhealthy bashing on an idea and product they haven't even seen in action first-hand, or have used personally on a day by day basis.

"Google Glass, please bring up directions to (insert location here), then suddenly a car crash"
This is such a silly argument piece it hurts.
Car crashes are perhaps one of the most highly rated causes of deaths in many modernized countries/cities across the globe, especially in many areas of the U.S.
Of course, like anything, car crashes can be caused by a number of factors, whether it be falling asleep while driving, drunk driving, or perhaps... I don't know... Constantly using your phone while driving?
I would probably relate the Google glasses closet to mobile phones because, well, it's core mechanics are fairly similar to what is currently used by many modern peoples today.

However, similar to a phone, you probably shouldn't even be using Google Glasses while driving in the first place unless you really did need to get directions. I would rather be more focused on not getting into an accident and possibly ruining my health then needing to pay close attention to this device at a time it doesn't need to be used. Hey, people have GPS's in their cars too. May I ask what the difference is from looking down away from the actual windshields to this tech-device from seeing it on a nice small display closer to your face?
EDIT: This also goes for the "its distracting" argument.
You know what, practically EVERYTHING can be a distraction.
Currently, mobile phones pretty much ARE a huge distraction to people, and really, you don't see people ramming into poles or walking onto the street in the middle of traffic because of that. If anything, people should be smart enough to know when and where it should actually be used, sheesh.

I also don't understand the "It'll look strange because it'll be like your talking to yourself," argument and idea that people somehow have to bring up to a conversation about this piece of technology.
It's really disappointing, and it really feels like people can't be mature about such an ordeal like that.

I don't understand these pro's and con's.
We don't have availability to the tech yet, nor a lot of tangible information on it still.
They seem a bit... dubious, no? A bit on the radical side/what you think it'll be rather than what it'll actually turn out to be as a product?

I, personally hope Google Glasses, when it comes out, finds success.
It's a nice step in technology, and probably something, as someone who wears glasses, could be as a nice tool to use from time to time. (especially as someone who has no interest in using a smartphone; my old phone is fine and has a longer battery life thank you very much).
It's something nice and out of the way, and hopefully, it does what it sets out to be.

I am excited for this.
Hopefully it can be expanded upon and more ideas can be implemented into it to be more used widely and accessible to the public.
I will (and have) continue to keep up to date on this product.
2014 isn't all that far away. ;)

EDIT 2: And hey, if anything, this very may just become the catalyst to start this kind of technological revolution using this type of product/technology, pretty much just as every other kind of technology has throughout history.
I'm pretty sure there have already been other companies trying out similar products, at least, from what I saw at that recent Tech Expo.
