Well, it could be abused, like sending useless stuff to random players. renaming system also could be abused here.
No need for it on BB, unless you want to send books.
TNT - I don't think it would work well.
JtE/AoD/RoF - it actually could work here.
I could really like it on AoD, since that would make giving stuff to your teammates much easier, and without the risk that some one else grabbed it.

On JtE however I fear it could, and will be abused, exaple's could be Giving stuff to people on dungeons, or just emptying your inventory when mining.

Perhaps there could be a limit, like one item at a time, or you must wait 5 seconds before sending another gift. or maybe even an accept/deny thing for the receiver.
"jummbl would like to send you a gift. Accept?"
/gift accept or /g a
/gift deny or /g d

^ This prevents a majority of the abuse. I like the idea, of course it would need some fine-tuning though.

just thought of how to prevent spamming requests.
When trying to send another gift, if the person hasn't accept the first gift, or denied it, it'll show to sender this message:
"You have already requested to send an item to this person."
or maybe a command like
/gift ignore or /g i
EDIT: Also, perhaps if gifts are not accepted after 6:00, it expires. Also, not sure if you could code this, but if you no longer have the item in your inventory, you and the recipient both get this message: "Item not found. Could not send item." or something like that.

The idea seems good for some of the servers as stated above, however as Baker said it's hardly ever a good idea to make a global command suggestion! Now as the respective directors have all seen this they will most likely consider it. (Except for BB and JtE, they more than likely wont even give it a thought)
