I'm done with YouTube. So first they update to this new layout that nobody really likes that much, and now they're making me update my channel? I had been postponing updating my channel, like many other YouTubers, and now they say, 6 days left before we update for you! So I updated, and THEY ARE SOOOOOOO ANNOYING. Sorry for caps, but, UUGH. I tried to make channel art with
my photoshopping skillz, and I followed the suggested size (2560 x 1440), and then they decided that they wanted me to crop it to a fifth of the size they suggested. Apparently, the suggested size is for TV. I mean, WHO EVEN WATCHES YOUTUBE ON TV??? So I tried to shrink my picture, and after endless tries, I got it the right size for cropping. Then I cropped it, and the biggest size they let you crop it to DOESN'T COVER THE WHOLE SCREEN. And I don't even have a big computer. Sooooo... will anyone volunteer to help me out with this or make a banner for me? Pwetty pwease?

You guys are reacting to the new layout as if it really changed. It didn't. My channel's basic layout was 90% the same as the new layout. All I needed was a simple banner and making one was easy (with a few hours).
Browse Tab: Video at the top + Playlists below ; only changed thing was the playlists were expanded so you can see more of the videos inside the playlists & featured video is now a trailer.
Feed Tab: List of videos + activity ; 100% same.
They gave the User's info it's own tab, and even the Search function is in a more organized place. I like it a lot. ^_^
There's things I don't like about it, like suggested videos don't show the username, and more the title of the channel.

What happened?
Advertising.
It's simple: Youtube to companies and very old adults who do not understand the media today look at Youtube as a money machine. Ads that you can skip in 5 seconds or 30 second ads you have to wait. Or you're watching a really long video and you have the option of watching a 5 minute advertisement or suffer an ad every five minutes in the hour long video. Youtube used to be a creative medium where people could entertain others or speak about radical ideas about things that matter to today's youth. Yet, here comes the older generation completely clueless on how to monitor a new enterprise.

We've already had Good Morning America attack Jenna Marbles. In the interview between correspondent Cecilia Vega and Jenna Mourey, Cecila Vega marks down the amount of times Jenna says "ridiculous" nor was there actual any content in the interview except with the lingering taste of bile that GMA was implying there was nothing of substance from Jenna Marbles nor the internet in general.
Jenna recieved a a huge amount of support from her fans, other Youtubers, or basically the youth of today in general. It was a big show of old media showing it's fear of the media we control now. But what does this have to do with Youtube's constant change? Well there are the adults that legitimately understand that we're continuing to watch but less of television. It doesn't mean they know how to rally to the youth other than to use our own desires to adhere to theirs. Notice how many applications are being adjusted to Google layout standard? Notice how no one is being modest or secretive of Youtube being an ad source?
Change happens. Deal with it.
You were expecting a soltuion right? Too bad. This is literally a situation where no matter how many people oppose companies making big changes. Businesses still going to go along with it and you have to too. In fact, they're making sure you don't screw up Youtube by having control of it theirselves.
Allow me to stop you from fucking up your toy, by fucking it up myself.
Am I complaining? Yes. I have legitimate reasons. My "possession" is experiencing some changes that I did not call for. Are they for better or worse? For advertisement yes but for creativity no. To me, Youtube seems to become less and less about using your abilities to help other people through video. I was attracted to Youtube because of the social networking that was created there. Now it seems to become more and more minimalistic with each update. It's known that a blank piece of paper is more progressive for a child's brain. How I view Youtube now is that they're taking away blank pieces of paper and "industrializing" the the Youtube media.
I'm moderately worried about Youtube's future. The content from my subscriptions that I actually find well worth watching or thought provoking seems way smaller than a few years ago. When big Youtubers start making large revenue from advertising, it makes me think that the content they give out is going to mark down.
I guess I'm one of the few that isn't bothered by this at all? I don't mind the ads I know what they are for. People have said they have hated Facebook's updates over the past few years and yet those people who said they hated it still to this day get on it several times a day.

I still watch YouTube every day, but they took away the creativity of having a channel. Instead of a color filled channel background (Like HarmakPaul 's video said) you have a bright white background with a tiny banner that is hard to customize.
I actually completely forgot, sorry! But it will somewhere in settings I guess. I can't seem to find, it maybe it got deleted ;S

What really pisses me off is the fact I have to watch commercials on yourtube with my cellphone.
