Urk, sorry!
It seems to be unblocked now, though, so if I can still sign up I'd love to

((PM me the application with the format I posted on the first page. We're full of players at the moment, so you'd have to be a substitute if someone drops out. Please don't respond on this thread anymore for now though please!))

Does the bottle contain any liquid? If so, I might pocket it for later, for the possibility of poison. Regardless, Faust quickly leaves the body and proceeds to pass through the door. He knows full well the situation just got complicated, and that being caught with a man that's most likely dead is not the sort of attention he would like.

You give it a quick stir, and determine that there is some liquid in the bottle. You cap it off and put it away.

You pass through the door, and are faced with several yards of steps leading down to the floor of the fighting ring, which you can see clearly as you walk down. The place is crowded, and a wall of people surrounds the fighting ring: a sand pit about 7 yards in diameter, surrounded by a stone barrier 4 feet high. A second bar is serving drinks right out the barrel on the right. You cannot see the fighters yet, as they are hidden in small rooms to the left and right of the fighting ring.

Here is a layout of the room:
(( Thanks to Duffie for recommending the MapTool Software. Hopefully I'll get better at it with time! The map only shows a few people on the map, but I can't exactly make a token for every person there!))
Is there anything that you want to do before the fight starts? Anything you wish to check? Also, your token is in the bottom left, the circle.

Ellie pulls Heinrich, a donkey who refuses to listen to her, trudgingly down the street, in search for a place to stay. Heinrich attempts to sit still, while Ellie pulls him by a rope. She grunts and heaves, but Heinrich continues to be stubborn.

"Come on, you stupid donkey..." She pulls back, slips, and falls backwards. Heinrich neighs his little laugh. "Oh, shush up."

She looks around, then notices a pub nearby. She pulls Heinrich toward the pub, tying him to the outside of it, then walks in. She doubts anyone would take such a useless donkey, anyway.

//Ellie has always been deemed childish, not quite acting her age. She would always mess around, not really taking anything seriously. She always wears her makeshift tattered cape, which makes her seem much more like a child. She had come from overseas, on the quest for adventure, which took her to the slums of Neverfell.//

((I am so uncreative.))

((Alright, Duffie's having some internet problems, so for the time being we'll move on. ))

On a podium attached to the ring, the announcer, wearing bright purple clothing, clears his throat and begins the processions.

"Ahem! Ladies and ladies! Fine denizens of Neverfell! Welcome! To the finest worst fighting ring of all of Aelor!

While recently we have been served with a great number of one sided affairs due to one of our stony guests here tonight, tonight proves to be one of the most intriguing fights that we have held within our humble grounds!"

Everyone who was crowded by the bar has turned around and wandered toward the ring, grabbing what spots there are left. There are several rows of grandstands, as well as standing room only sections. Close to 200 people have made there way here tonight. They are all eager to watch the fight.

"So now, may I present to you our greatest fighter that we have seen in years!"

The crowd roars. "BRAND! BRAND! BRAND! BRAND!..."

"...He is as tall as the Mountain of Kadesh! As wide as the Morrow Canyons! As silent as the Whispering Vale! I preeeeeessent to you my dear friends, one of the last Forged that will ever grace this fine earth! The Champion of Dyer - Braaaaaaaaaand!!"

"BRAND! BRAND! BRAND! BRAND!"

((JKangaroo, make your introductions! Enter the ring and tell us what you look like.))

((Edit: Also ReyvnNova , let me know where you would like to position yourself for the fight. As in, where you would like to watch it.))

((Woo!))
Dust heaves into the air as Brand takes large, ringing steps into the ring. As the dust clears he is seen standing still, arms crossed, eyes closed; emotionless, waiting for the match to begin.

//Brand is a Forged, a being of pure, solid stone. Like many of his fellow brethren, Brand was built for battle, standing mightily over many at a height of 7'4". A relic from his past, Brand bears the marks of many runic symbols, a constant reminder to his creation and purpose, visibly seen by all. Quiet and calm, the stone-formed Forged rarely reveals a hint of emotion, making it hard for others to interpret besides the ever-present aura of anger left in the impression of the creature. Brand acts as a pit-fighter in the underbelly of the Dyers Pub, though little else is known of him.//

"...Gaze upon his perfect form my comrades, and despair!"

The announcer pauses for a moment, and turns towards the opposite side of the pit. The audience follows his gaze. Nothing moves but the small bits of dust still floating in the air.

"And here! A mysterious challenger in our mist! A Goliath of the Western Adolphi Mountains! These beings, as you are about to see, stand much taller than you or I, but do not doubt his quickness, for he moves with the agility of a mountain tiger! So may I present to you...."

The door begins to creak open.

"Sulayman! Goliath of Regal Mountain!"

The Goliath pushes forward the door, recieving an Oooh from the crowd as he enters. Even for you Forged, who sees little care for the physical appearance of the fleshmen, can tell that this being is as exquisite a specimen that you have witnessed in your countless years. Sulayman stands almost as tall as you, just 4 inches shy of your height. His body bears dark brown skin, clean and without blemish, except for the intricately details black tattoos that cover his face and other parts of his body. Black Dreadlocks hang down to a few inches below his shoulders, and those are kept impeccably clean as well. He has little resemblance to the appearances of those humans you have encountered in the streets, except for the ragged and dirty cloth shorts and shirt that he wears now.

He moves to the center ring, where he stands but a few feet from you. A referee stands between you, explaining the rules to you two and the crowd. He pays little attention to the referee, but takes great interest in you, examining you for a moment before he speaks softly, a voice that seems to carry softly, but one that only you can hear at the moment.

"You are a fine specimen Brand. My people have spoken highly of the Forged. It is an honor to finally meet one of your kind."

Brand's glowing eyes would have flashed open, and in turn, he squints, eyeing the Goliath in front of him distrustfully. From some well of malice, Brand speaks in a soft, rumbling voice in the language native to the Goliath, the Ansharo, and scoffs:

"I do not care for your praise. I know of your kind, fleshman, and it is not normal for one of the great Goliaths of the mountains to care for such pleasantries."
Brand will lean closer and looks at the Goliath with a sneer.
"You will not trick me with such a foolish facade. Prepare yourself, we will see who you really are in combat."

With that Brand will roar and enter a combat position in preparation for the fight to begin.

((Oh yeah, forgot to mention he was speaking Ansharo to you, one reason why no one could understand the conversation x) ))

"For you as well...."

The referee looks at the both of you standing next to each other. "Are we ready? Return to the opposite ends of the ring and we shall begin."

You two return to the sides from where you came. You stare down each other for a moment, and right when the tension seems to get too much:

"BEGIN!"

Sulayman and you have the same Basic Speed, but he has a higher DX than you do, so he goes first.

He sprints straight at you, but right as he is about to meet you head on he crosses you face and unleashes a kick to your torso. His movement was too wild, he missed completely! (( Every action when in combat takes 1 second of gametime to complete. He has a basic move of 5, so moving 4 tiles is within his reach. I'm referencing the rules in the Core books for this, a Move and Attack. He gets to move and attack on the same turn, but at a -4 to hit with his Brawling skill. I rolled a 14, which is far over that mark.))

((Now it's your turn. Let me know what action you wish to do from the GURPS Lite rulebook. If an action that you wish to do is not in there, I can probably find something in the Core Books that will let you do that action you desire. So in summary, let me know what you are doing, and apply the skill that you are using to it to see if you succeed!))

(( ReyvnNova , is that position fine for you? ))

After the first initial strike by Sulayman misses, Brand will attempt to counter-attack with a jab(punch) to his opponents torso as well, but Sulayman is to quick for it, and the counter fails to land its target!

((Rolled 3d6 = 13. Dexterity is 8 + 3(Skilled in Brawling) = 11. Attack misses.))
((Also, for the future, would a throw count as an attack option? Just wanted to know))

((Eh, I'll go ahead and respond to this since you got it up.))

Sulayman quickly grabs the flailing punch, attempting to Grapple onto his arm. Lunging forward, he takes both hands and bends the tremendously off-balanced Brand and pins his arm behind his back. Brand now has a Goliath pulling back his right arm, and now cannot move, and takes -4 to DX as long as Sulayman is holding on to you.

(( I rolled to Grapple, which is rolling against my DX, which is 12. I take a -1 to hit because I'm specifically targeting your arm. Typically I would have you defend this attack, but I rolled a 3, which is a crit success, so I'm not letting you defend it.

Your next phase of action would be to continue attacking (with a -4 penalty with DX maneuvers) or attempt to break free with a Contest of Strength where we will roll against our ST to determine if I keep hold of you or you are released. We will do "rounds" of die rolling, until one of us is a clear victor in this contest. So to start the contest, roll 3d6 and judge against you ST, and tell me if you pass or fail.))

((Yes, but I rolled a 12 against my strength, which is also a success. So no one gave ground on that attempt. Now we will go again. To speed up the process, give me three more rolls, so we can determine a winner at a faster rate. So give me :

Roll 1:
Roll 2:
Roll 3:

Then I shall give you mine and determine a winner)
