The thing is Ash doesn't fit at all. He has no purpose. He just sort of hangs out with 10 year old- ok that sounds wrong. And it IS. Ash was okay in whatever May's season was, but after his voice change I was just like "no leave."
Well imo he sounded like a girl before (well it makes sense because he's voiced by a girl) but now his voice is more masculine and at least he was mature in Sinnoh.... but the premise of a Pokemon Journey (or at least Ash's) is travelling with friends (who in this case are the world's most whiny girl and most exquisitely annoying guy) around the region, winning badges and bonding with Pokemon!

I personally dislike Ash. He was good when Pokemon first came out. But as it went on... yeah, his current losing streak and not evolving most of his pokemon got very, very old.

His losing streak was very disheartening for someone who watched the earlier seasons. I feel like they used to drag another episode out with a rematch rather than do cool stuff.

Yep. I kind of liked Gary, but his voice was the most annoying ever. I'm glad we get to see the real Green. And also, by the trailer, I noticed after the clip of Lance's E4 room, when it shows Green, that isn't some random battle... HE'S IN HIS CHAMPION ROOM! After 15 years we finally get to see an Anime character face the Elite 4!
