Quick blurb. I've recently had a big argument and am organizing my two main thoughts.
The Spread And Glorification of Spreading Information and Knowledge
I honestly feel bad for anyone in highschool around the 1990s that liked to learn and constantly seek knowledge. The portrayal of "nerds" around this time period by pop culture wasn't the kindest nor thought provoking. Yet to a hopeful day of now your legitimate ability to learn and using the internet to learn is awesome. Google itself was literally created so someone could find the most recent information of present time of anything. Hotdogs is our subject. How would someone be able at complete ease bee able to find out a generalized information of hotdogs that is to date in the 1990s?
It is why so many people are able to spit out class assignments without investigating on their subject weeks in advance. It's why over 900,000 people now know how to make sugar glass. It's how I wrote this quick article.
A Raceless/Faceless Outlet to Communicate and Express
Personal one here. As a dysfunctional Vietnamese male who is average in height and is constantly battling baby face fat, I get put into roles people assume I'll fit. Like a web designer apparently or something probably intelligent, high standard, but not leadership in any form. Rare moments have I ever been given full control of a situation or the allowance of my opinion being considered basically because of the way I look. It'll happen to you, it sort of does to everyone. Whether better or worse sometimes I relish in the days that I surprise people because I don't fit their standardized role and other days it's honestly a problem that I feel like will never end and I'll never break out of.
Which is why I have my internet surrogate family to thank. My anonymity has allowed me to speak to many different communities on the same level as they are. The only judgement a person can receive on the internet ((generally)) is based on the content they have to offer and their personality. Extremely large relationships have been formed through the world wide web and radical movements have been pushed for awareness and an attempt for people to reach out and find people with the same interests.
Final thing is how has the internet benefited you? What's your reasons? This is an open thread for anyone who's looking to defend their alternate life ((internet life)) to a broad spectrum. Whether it be family, friends, anyone you have the ability and means to advocate, display an amazing avenue that many, many people use and is "normal" to them.
Dam u str8 babygurl. It's about time I posted a feel good thread.
