So, yesterday night, Xenoraph, my brother, told me that someone had found out why Ash Ketchum from Pokemon never ages. He spread the word to me, Fare and my elder sister.

Xeno said that there's a legend that Ho-Oh can grant wishes.

Ho-Oh had appeared in front of Ash, on the first episode in fact, and Ash saw the Pokémon. He was awed, right?

At the time, Ash had made a wish. To capture Pokémon forever.

And you remember that Xeno said there's a legend that Ho-Oh grants wishes.

... Done.

EDIT: ... It's a reasonable explanation. Why you guys no like?

*one kid makes a wish* *stops aging for everyone*
Actually, in one of the episodes/movies, you see Red as the protagonist. When he comes back in a later episode/movie, he had longer hair and a more defined face, showing he aged.

Thus, everyone except for Ash is aging. :O
But brock seems the same age =S

He's also plenty older, so he doesn't change as much.

In theory, it's only been 2 ~ 3 years, based on every episode counting as one day.

Another theory says that if each series based on leagues takes place over one year each, he is around 18 years of age.

But, based on what is said in the Black and White series, despite the fact time is a clear idea of passage, the narrator says that Ash is still 10 years old.

Now that I think about it, this is just anime logic. Sometimes, things never make sense. Eh, but why kill the fun in racking our brains? :p
Technically speaking, this could even be cartoon logic, since there are some qualities of the series that don't follow the guidelines of most animes.

And as we all know, cartoons can make much less sense than animes.

What if there is no reason?
Hold it right there, meme-over-user.

Although there are theories everywhere, there actually is a reason why Ash is always 10 years old.

The publisher, I think, of the series has stated that he has kept the protagonist the same age, to keep the main viewing group.
