Wanted to play Minecraft, had no money, found out about this cool old "Classic Minecraft", tried out a few servers, most were sh*t (freebuild and no nice people). Forgot about it for over a year.
Then, again, I wanted to play MC. THEN, I found a Zombie Survival server. Had no idea what the heck that was, so I tried, and got kicked within seconds (Still remember the caption: "Lag-pillaring like a champ!").
Never read the rules (only did once, two days before the Shutdown), always followed them (after being kicked numerous times and warns etc.). Never actually stayed for the game (except the maps, those were awesome if you could make those (DARNED) 2x1s), I came for the game and stayed because of the awesome people.

And that's it. ZS was closed, and with time some of my old friends have either gone to other classic or premium servers (MineManiacs and TNT, AoD, for instance), some stayed in the community, but most left it.
My only hope here is that nobody else leaves, and that those who did will one day return into a whole new and better Classic Blocktopia Zombie Survival.

Somewhere this week, I think, was the first time I came onto Zombies. And it was epic.
Don't regret, nor will I ever, a single second on these servers, or on the forums.
My only fear is that I will soon need to leave as well...

Saw 'theones zombie' in server list, who doesn't like zombies?!
Awesome fun! Those brilliant levels; underground town, western, THE SHIP, heaven/hell etc.
But rule breaking was rife and stupid zombies didn't help in making humans unreachable.
Draco12's adminium camo skin wins many rounds.
Level loading took decades.
Frequently gave Bea a real hard time about her ability to op.
Somehow didn't get banned.
This is great, but can be better. I want to make this better.
Take most popular custom server at the time and make it play like zombie on steriods.
KMG and I testing early versions with strange bugs.
It's finally done with one of the smallest lobbies in the world.
Detailed stats! Anti-Pillar! Ranks! Dat instant level loading! GODLIKE!!
More fun for players and easier for ops.
Life is good.
Somehow end up doing the same for classic lava, while struggling to understand how people enjoy playing with no long-term goal.
Cookies and pets are born.

I forget a lot of stuff, but you get the idea. :)

Found Zombies, lost it because of the namechange and busy with admin on another server, join Zombies, get trusted, get trusted on TNT, leave TNT after getting Op, come back for A&T, get to controller and eventually head controller or director. :D

It began when searching up for different servers in classic minecraft. I then came upon lava survival and decided to choose blocktopia lava survival because of large amounts of people playing it. So its then becoming super addictive and met so many awesome people. I soon then came upon the actual website. I soon then created an account and had a great time.
I remember playing lava survival from 10 to early in the morning, it was a great time but sadly its gone. I remembered a bunch of people and thought to join in. I did leave for quite some time but I decided to join back in and remember the good old days.

I started with joining TheOnes Zombie Server a long time ago. (I don't even remember the date, it was in the summer though. It was early enough that it was using the loading map by chunks format.) I had a lot of fun on there, and I met lots of really awesome people. I decided to stick around and found myself getting addicted. I stayed there for a few months until trusted applications opened up on the forums, and decided to apply because I knew I would be staying a long time.

My application was approved and I found myself having more responsibility, yet it also opened up a lot of friendships as well. I was trusted for about six months, which I remember a conversation with many people showing surprise at how long that lasted. I ended up getting promoted on April 1st, much to my surprise. I expected to wake up the next day and the rank be gone. Since I became operator I ended up having a lot of fun talking to people, I rarely got angry. It was so relaxing now that I could sit back and chat with everyone without having to worry about a zombie using contraceptives with me or something.

It turned out that I was very sheltered at that point in my life, and my zombie friends helped me open up to the world and understand lots of very interesting things that won't leave my mind until I get old and lose my already faulty memory. Related to that is my self-confidence and worth, I remember having constant low self-esteem issues during that time which were very difficult to overcome. But with the help of my zombie friends I was able to be confident in what I was doing, and I say I made a damn fine operator.

During that time I decided I wanted to host a game of Mafia on the forums, since I love logic games and thought it would be fun to host. Somehow, that first game I made connected with everyone really well and I got a really good vibe after that game ended. I decided to host a second one, and after that I noticed people really liked what I was doing. So I did more, hosting a third and a fourth game. During that time Mafia became really popular, having many wonderful people host games as well.

About 1-2 years after I became operator I had to resign and leave Blocktopia due to real life stuff getting in the way of my operating. I was gone for about six months and then decided to come back to Blocktopia a few days before the classic cancellation was announced. I remember logging on the forums for the first time in months and seeing all these heartwarming messages saying I made a difference in people's lives.

After I had my last run on Blocktopia Zombie Survival, (I'm proud of it, I won my last game alone on the map I first signed onto years ago) I decided to try JtE as well as come back to Mafia and play a game. JtE was so much fun, I loved talking to everyone and it was fun being a part of Atlantis. Until people stopped showing up and I found myself the only one signing on. That was kinda sad.

With the JtE run finished, I turned my full attention to Mafia games, even hosting my fifth season. After that, GmK decided to host a season as well as create a dedicated subforum(I think that's the correct term) for Mafia. As strange as it sounds, I'm probably the most proud of Mafia because I brought something to Blocktopia that seems to be sticking around, and it makes lots of people very happy.

Out of everything, my favorite part of Blocktopia is talking to all the great people here. Even while staffing I found myself having fun just chatting and being able to hear stories from people and make lots of friends.
