To be, or not to be? That is the question.

Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep;
No more; and by a sleep to say we end
The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to, 'tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wish'd.

To die, to sleep...
To sleep, perchance to dream... Ay, there's the rub...

For in that sleep of death, what dreams may come
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause: there's the respect
That makes calamity of so long life;
For who would bear the whips and scorns of time,
The oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely,
The pangs of despised love, the law's delay,
The insolence of office and the spurns
That patient merit of the unworthy takes,
When he himself might his quietus make
With a bare bodkin?

Who would fardels bear,
To grunt and sweat under a weary life,
But that the dread of something after death,
The undiscover'd country from whose bourn
No traveller returns, puzzles the will
And makes us rather bear those ills we have
Than fly to others that we know not of?

Thus conscience does make cowards of us all;
And thus, the native hue of resolution
Is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought,
And enterprises of great pith and moment
With this regard their currents turn awry,
And lose the name of action...

So I really, really want to get back into playing an MMO.
I always find just the idea of MMO's to be really interesting, but ever since I defected from World of Warcraft... Its been difficult finding that good mix of polish, community, and lore.

Neverwinter is pretty decent... the Forgotten Realms have always been a pretty strong series of lore and character to it, and the combat isn't too bad to boot and feels pretty responsive... But its just so repetitive. o3o
That said, it has only been out for... a year I believe, and MMO's are almost NEVER good the first few years of release, since it takes awhile for them to get rolling and fully polished. (Neverwinter still has TONS of bugs)
Still going to keep at it a little bit more and see how the endgame ends up being as.

I like Mabinogi... I really do... and I WANT so much to love it and feel invested... But I'm not one of those people who love the openness games like that can give. ;~; Its overbearing at times. Its also somewhat clunky too, which is somewhat offputing... ;-;
Mabinogi would be one of those games that would just... feel like perfection and incredibly immersive if it was done so in Virtual Reality...
One day!

I've tried other MMO's awhile back as well... but nothing major.

I've been thinking of getting into RIFT™ possibly.
It has a somewhat interesting world (so far), and it looks pretty good in terms of graphical fidelity.
Plus its fairly easy to pick up due to its similarities to many other hotkey MMO's of the past (mainly WoW).
My laptop sadly can't run it. >.<

...I really shouldve gotten Guild Wars 2 back when it was INCREDIBLY cheap back on the Humble Bundle store. o .o

...Still looking forward to Everquest Next/Landmark though. Hopefully it revolutionizes the MMO scene as its predecessor once did.

Mabinogi isn't even available in my country ;-; MMOs are pretty fun, except for those immature players who ruin the whole experience.

Well I usually prefer my games to be more of a combat-type. I usually leave the character development to books and shows I read and watch. I'm someone who appreciates art a lot, things of great artistic values to me are my source of passion, but I just find myself loving fast-paced combat games, especially war-based ones. Maybe because I find them as a efficient and great way to let off some steam and de-stress. Of course graphics are equally as important as well. And I guess I also love great strategy games, not just normal ones, which require you to think on your feet. (No idea why I'm talking about this, but oh well, I do love to ramble about what I enjoy sometimes, so forgive me a little.)

And yep. It's so hard to find MMOs nowadays with so much dedication and sweat put into it. Most of the MMOs nowadays are really repetitive, not enough lore and not enough community. Another problem is that they are either too easy or too tough. Which was the case with War Thunder. It was pretty amazing, the graphics were beautiful and straight-up they just throw you into combat. Played it a few times with friends, it was fun, but the sense of community and bonding just isn't there. It feels more of an individual game, not much team spirit required. Still that wasn't the biggest problem. The biggest problem was that it was near impossible to master the game. Maybe I'm too simple-minded, maybe I'm not, but there doesn't seem to be a way I can perfect my skills. Most of the time I just hit and miss. And there you go, one of the most hyped up f2p games of last year, boom, lost its popularity after a few months.

As for now I'm trying out Loadout. I love the roughness of the game, it's not one of those games that require you to pay to acquire some huge mega fancy powerful weapon and toss the other players aside. Easy to master as well, the only problem is that players aren't communicative enough. Not much community spirit in there, probably because it is just a new game. I have my hopes up for this game though, there's so much room and possibilities they can explore, and hopefully it won't be a letdown like War Thunder did for me.

And ending off my post with some Chevelle <3

Sometimes I forget MMO's aren't just limited to the MMORPG style of gameplay seeing as a good majority of developers try to make MMORPG's due to their popularity and (for some) the dream of being the next "WoW"... but it often tends to stagnate the market. WoW, Neverwinter, Guild Wars, Everquest, Final Fantasy 14, Elder Scrolls Online, Secret World, The Old Republic, RIFT™, and many others just scratch the surface with how many there are.

There are others though growing too.
I mean we have MMOFPS and action games growing in popularity from developers...
Planetside 2 and Path of Exile are both MMO's, and REALLY good too; clean, polished, somewhat easy to get into, and there is a lot of content to really keep you busy. (Though Planetside 2 isn't entirely true in that respect since its neverending so....)
We even saw some MMORTS coming out on the horizon with... I think it was Rise of Nations?... At least before it supposedly had massive changes to the gameplay mechanics...

You know... I REALLY want to try out that free EVE trial.
EVE, just from reading up on it and seeing it from affar/the sidelines... the internal empire consisting of all of the player-driven content and battles and the incredibly organic trade system run by the playerbase and how it affects decisions of many of the large groups in-game just feel.... so interesting.
I mean seriously, does anyone remeber just about a month ago when that MASSIVE EVE space battle (if I'm not mistaken, it was the largest ever in the hsitory of EVE) ended up happening due to an error in the bills being paid by a company in a single sector?!
That battle ended up costing just about $300,000 to around $500,000 in real American Dollars!
And over 100 of the Titan-class ships (roughly $3,000 a pop) were destroyed in the battle and aftermath as well, which is pretty insane if you ask me, and it must have been an AMAZING experience.
EVE really is one of those fascinating experiments of a game.

And EVE isn't just limited to the MMO, seeing as EVE has been slowly branching out to include more of the universe and such through various other games like Dust 514 and I believe the upcoming game EVE: Valkyrie as well, and they also affect your account in EVE Online as well, which is seriously interesting and cool that they can just keep growing this single game.

But EVE is really one of those games which you have to be really dedicated and invested to get anywhere with a high learning curve that easily puts off a lot of people.
But once you get sucked in...
*shiver*
Think of the possibilities...

Using a bow. I sort of forgot what was odd since I haven't played in a while. But it was really weird =S
I KNEW IT.

Bow combat is, like, the only weird thing in the game.

You use the skill, click your target, then it brings back the string to aim, showing a hit percentage above you. The closer you are, the faster you are more accurate, while the farther away you are, the slower the percentage rises.

If you plan on getting into Mabinogi for the first time, I suggest close combat, as it is the most recommended for beginners. ;)

But I love bows D=. And also I tried the close-combat tutorial/beginner lessons, but they were bugged or something and didn't really work =S.

Hey, hey, hey.

Bow combat isn't the only awkward system.
Puppetry is really hard to handle. Even though Puppetry uses similar mechanics to close combat, the addition of an extra thing to control (which is somewhat clunky) makes it somewhat more difficult :c

Close combat isn't too bad, but that too is kind of clunky due to all the Lag that tends to happen. :< (or is that just me?)

How is Magic / Battle Alchemy though?

I never really used Puppetry, but I have someone who mastered it as a close friend. ;) @GodzEater

Magic is pretty simple, but is quite weak at the beginning.

Battle Alchemy has gotten better with the usage of Shield Cylinders, allowing use of hybrid techniques.
