I am resigning my postion as Director of the Rituals of Fire server.

To those of you that knew me when I first joined this community in the fall of 2010, you know all too well how much this community has changed, and how much I have changed, but I'm the only one that can vouch for how much this community has changed me. This community has been my second family. I have met some of the best friends I've ever had here, met some of the most interesting people, and learned more than I probably know along the way.

It has been my honor to devote over 3 years of my time and energy into staffing with this community. I have seen a lot of it's ups, and it's downs, and I have seen the community grow into its own identity far from that of TheOne's of which we were founded. I've even banned everyone including myself at one point.

I do not feel that this community is done growing. I know that the current administration along with the amazing players of Blocktopia will take the community to new reaches, and it is my hope that I can continue along with that journey, although it not be as a staff member.

As for my reasoning for my resignation, it's complicated. I work a full time job with anywhere between 45 and 52 hours a week. Part of it is real life things. Part of it is a lack of continued creativity on my part. I no longer feel that I have what it takes, or the time, to move RoF in the direction I have always wanted and the way it deserves to go. I have to step aside at one point and allow the young talent to take over with new ideas and new mindsets, with the trust that they'll treat my baby (RoF) with as much respect, hard work, and dedication that I did.

A popular thing that is done with these is shout outs. While I won't go into detail about why each of these people are dear to me, they why they're there. No particular order given, and I'm sure I cant begin to list all the people that should be on here. If you're left out, it's likely not on purpose.

We haven't had the best history, hell, you know me as someone that's annoying for continously asking to get unbanned, but you know what, for right now that idea can gladly go fuck itself. Why?

Your server is the prime reason I was interested in Blocktopia, and yours alone. You had so much faith, so much belief in your work. You were shy (you still are,) and yet by January-February 2013 when I joined, you were such a well-respected member of the community that people began to know you as a Blocktopian Role Model, a title which very few people have taken over the years.

In Fall of 2010, when you joined the Community, it was a different time. It was like a foggy, distant Outlet, and along with a few people you were the Statue of Liberty of Blocktopia. You dashed into that fog, ready to encounter what lay ahead. Your subconscious knew, however, that someday that fog would clear for you to look back on what you've done.

And Holy Shit Man, that day is today. I applaud you for your well-done, artistic, humorous, and clever way of doing work, and also that you've done it.

Just...Wow.

As @Biblius once Said, We're truly losing role models like you.

We'll miss you old friend, and I will too.

I'm sorry we couldn't get along to the fullest extent.

You were the proud father of Blocktopia's greatest server, and you carried the legacy of our oldest server in a time when few could. You should be nothing but proud of your work. Well, damn. I usually don't respond to these threads, and I don't think I've ever even met you before - no, wait, there was this one time - but RoF is the one for me, and in a way, that makes you the one for me. Of all the servers I've played on, RoF easily makes the Top 3. And when you've played on so many great servers as I have, that means a lot.

I do hope that RoF will continue to thrive even with you no longer in the lead, but the year and a bit more that I have spent on it with fluctuating levels of activity have given me some of the best memories that I still hold dear today and will continue to do so in the future. None of this wouldn't have been possible without you. I may not know every detail of what your position as a Director meant for you and how hard you had to work for it to become a reality, but the outcome was magnificient, incredible and after the downfall of Classic Lava, it offered me a place that was as welcoming, unique and fun as Classic Lava had been.

Ogar, I've known you from as long as I can remember. You used to intimidate me P), but after hanging out with you on TS and such, I've realized how awesome you are. You've become a good friend, and I've enjoyed all the shenanigans all of us have gotten into. I'm glad that you were the Director all this time (and dirt too c: ) and I thank you for everything that you have done for Rituals of Fire. You have helped create the awesome server that it is now.

I'm more saddened by this then anyone else. I remember the days back in classic lava, I honestly thought you hated me cause I was messing around too much on there. I would've never thought that I'd take your spot on your server and having to solo direct it. I wasn't prepared for this to happen, nor did I thought about it ever being possible. Thank you for everything that you taught me, it really helped me to become what I am right now. I'll put it to good use and I won't let your server down; I'll work as hard as I can to make it one of the best.

I'm really sad to see you go. When I think of you, I remember the days of Classic Lava Survival where you were Controller and I was an Operator. I was new to the team and one of the first times meeting you was at your Controllerversary party with dirtcake (or however you spell that...) and then you used that command to drop cookies or w/e it was and you had to /grab them. Can't fully remember now. Moving on, you were staff for so long and did it so well, I looked up to you.

I sadly don't have the logs of you promoting me to Operator on 'LSMP' and then asking 'wait, do you want it?' But you did a fab job at sending this server in a good direction. You and dirtcake make a great team. :) POINT IS, Blocktopia has impacted you and you've impacted Blocktopia greatly and it's going to be weird not seeing you with a rank. Ogar, I want to thank you so much for the time and effort you put into RoF. It is truly a wonderful server, if not the best server in Blocktopia. You did a beyond excellent job in creating, leading, and building RoF to what it is today, so pat yourself on the back.

I remember when I first knew you beyond “someone who staffs a server” it was when you stepped up to be Mayor in Primus back in LoP. During that time, the more I saw you, the more I wanted to be like you. Your dedication to your job at hand, the helpfulness, and the desire to do the best job you could. There was a lull between LoP and RoF where I did not see you much. But when RoF opened up that inspiration was rekindled and enlarged.

I am sad that you are stepping down from Director. Both from a player point of view, but from a personal one too. You have become a role model to me, which very few Blocktopians have become. I am greatly honored that you thought of mentioning me in your shout out, I know it’s silly, but I means a lot to me.

I wish you the very best in your life, job, and all of your endeavors. Also, THANK YOU for everything you did in the community and server!

Goodbye Ogarci. Sadly, I never had the opportunity to serve under you as a staff member nor does It appear I ever will. Despite this I've gotten a very strong impression that those who've had this opportunity really look up to you and respect you. More so than I'd noticed of other directors. I don't think I ever got the chance to know you well enough to fully understand this, and I wish I had, Though It is clear you did a more than excellent job in leading this server into not only becoming one of blocktopias more popular servers but also an excellent place for one to consider a home.

It's sad to see you go and perhaps this is a tad optimistic of me but I hope everything works out for the best for you. I have no doubts you are leaving the server in good hands. Though, not only by definition, the server will not be the same without you. Though you definitely could be intimidating at times at others you did show you had a sense of humor.

I like to think it for the best that we not just focus on how the server won't be the same, but instead discuss some of the good times we shared with you.
