This has to be settled. Wars have been fought, comments have raged, and many.....many "gifs" have been created. The creator of the word "gif" has said that it's pronounced "jif", but others are still denying the fact. I want to let our community decide, considering we are the internet. It is time that Blocktopia has found the answer of which pronunciation of "gif" is correct. Is it "Gif" or "Jif"? Post what you think it is and why. I'll list all of the reasons below.

"Gif" Reasons
1. F*** THE CREATOR
2. Typed out correctly
3. Stands for Graphics Interchange Format, not Jraphics

"Jif" Reasons
1. Creator claims it
2. Other method can be confusing
3. GUBGUBBERS

"Gif" and "Jif" Reasons
1. It's not peanut butter.
2. It's not laundry detergent
3. It could be said either way
4. QUIT BEING LAZY ****S

Ladies and gentlemen, let the games begin.

Conventions of the english language dictate that you would pronounce it jif. However, it isn't an english word, it's an acronym.

acronym
[ak-ruh-nim]
noun
1. a set of initials representing a name, organization, or the like, with each letter pronounced separately; an initialism.

It's pronounced gee-eye-eff. Stop being lazy, all of you!
