I'm getting minor FPS lag, but I definitely keep crashing from Minecraft.

Meanwhile, in the middle of the city;

I walk a lonely road;

EDIT: They can't seem to destroy bricks. The red ones. More testing needed.
Also stone bricks are not an option. Just like sand and dirt.
Also they cant break cobble. Too bad we can't place it amiright?

Yeah, but you can turn them into stone. The zombies almost broke in through a dirt wall in my base xD

I know but stone bricks are breakable.

Also update: don't build a house made of chests, they're also breakable.

The best solution, as jives said, is making yourself unreachable. They're not smart enough to figure out how i fell in a hole and now I'm alone in there :D

And the red bricks don't seem breakable. Not yet at least. Stone is breakable. Stone slabs are, too.

EDIT: Found 3 blocks of iron. Maybe iron makes them go away? Testing now.

Tip if you need food: Go out in the open at night, pillar, snicker at these sily zombies trying to reach you and wait for morning to come before you watch them burn into nothingness.

And no, pillar at least 5 blocks up. Else you would see yourself being spleefed by them.

You sure? I live in a cave but the zombies don't really break through my walls, though they're kind of around. Thanks for the info though :D

I've had some time to test. :3
They break different blocks at different speeds, I've concluded. So until more testing is done, everything but cobble is breakable.
Iron blocks seem to be unbreakable as well as red brick blocks, but more testing is needed still.

Won't be on for ~6 hours now so no testing from my side :c

Day 1.) I looted a few iron ores, made a helmet and traveled into the sewer for the night.

Day 2.) I traveled trough town, more iron. And i am already OP. gg

Pretty much jumping around trees the whole time, not a zombie in sight. Suddenly, I look below me and there's around 8 of them surrounding my position. Naturally I freak out and keep tree-hopping.

Finally, a village in sight! I come down from a tree now that it's daylight, but I hit the ground hard and I have one heart left. So I start sprinting like a madman. I look and see the zombies are burning and not following me... then I get killed by a baby zombie from nowhere :/

And chests are apparently impossible to find.

Make a house 10 blocks above the ground. Like @Jeercrul said only higher. And get a shitload of sticks because you'll be needing lots and lots of ladders.
Also get iron. Loot ingots from zombies. Or find iron blocks inside buildings. Or come join me and get some
I'm in the town, a bit on the edge. I shout out every now and then during the day and if you need help, I'll gladly offer some.
I also have enough iron for a bunch of tools for quite a few people.

I've found a spider spawner underground and destroyed it. Very, very near to my old underground base (In town, on the street, marked with a sign, still good if you need to survive a night, but you'll need to stay awake to fight the hordes of zombies that reside underground. Lit with a glowstone, has a crafting table and furnace and a chest with some tools in it.)

Last one now, use buckets. They can't swim against the current, so you can get on a small hill and put water there.
They look like idiots. But I fear what morning might bring for my new water fortress :T

EDIT: They can swim up water pillars.

EDIT2: Sticks + cobble is an effective way of lighting up the streets. There are redstone lights all over town, if we all just turn them on the zombie number would decrease drastically. (I've already started doing so in the part of town I live in, please contribute to the project)

I've noticed certain types of houses and building give different things. There's one type of skyscraper that has cakes on ground floor and then there's some types houses with enchanting tables. I've also noticed that in certain type of houses there will also be the same material in the same spot. Sometimes you get lucky like I found 2 blocks of iron instead of 2 ores.

I found a house with 4 iron ores on each floor. Beat that
(full iron armor and tools plus ~20 ingots left and I only went through 3 or 4 floors)
