The Guardian of Water

Ross' voice dropped a little, slightly embarrassed. "Pyro's a cool guy....He wasn't exactly ...himself...Near the end of the last world."

-----------
The Guardian of Fire Yes it's finally time...And because it's been so long since a Pyro post, it will go back pretty far .-.

Shivering, Pyro was thankful that they had finally arrived at the cave. He could go inside and be nice and toasty...And hopefully think of creative ways to kill the guy who made it snow like this....

Almost immediately upon entering the cave. He was feeling exhausted from having to keep his temperature up this whole time...Maybe I'll just...Rest for a second.....I'll catch up....It'll only be a few seconds..... Pyro leaned against the wall to rest, but as he put his weight on the wall, he simply slumped down. He tried to call out to his friends, to have them come back for him. No sound came, and futility, he reached for them, but they were already consumed in the darkness. Ross didn't even notice that he was no longer following.

Later, he heard shouting echoing to him from deeper in the cave, and tried to stand, but he couldn't. He heard footsteps coming towards him, but he could do nothing to bring attention to himself. He was frozen. Unable to move. Unable to speak. No one could see him. No one would save him.

((RIP Pyross. Shanebat1 come do your damn job.))

Liro slowly opened his eyes. When he woke up, all he could see was the sky. He slowly sat up and looked around. He saw Skri'ik talking to somebody covered in clouds, probably Cyra. That name instantly angered him. Liro tried to stand up but pain instantly filled his left leg. He looked down and saw blood flowing. Looks like he landed on a sharp rock after Skri'ik's lightning knocked him back. Why did he even stop him from killing Cyra. Guess I'll have to ask him. He thought to himself. Liro wanted to finish his job. He wanted to kill Cyra. But right now he couldn't even stand up.

"A little help over here?" He shouted at Skri'ik.

Death stands in the cave shocked as he feels another guardian pass away. He thinks "Why do these guardians kill eachother so much?!". In a cloud of black mist death disappears from the cave and reappears where Pyro had died and does the same ritual as done with Fear, with the same amount of sadness in his heart, he swings his scythe into Pyro's chest, once again.

"No, he wasn't dead. He was possessed and went crazy. As you may remember, I was the first to go, as I was with him when it happened. Before that, we were great friends."

Out of nowhere, Ross suddenly feels as if something inside of him had been impaled. Not physically, but he no longer felt whole. He clutched his stomach for a moment. "Excuse me, I feel ill."

Ross ran towards the water and nearly made it, but ended up on the ground retching. It felt like he was trying to swallow fire, but couldn't keep it down. He managed to half walk-half drag himself to the water. He was so flustered once he was underwater that he couldn't transform, but this time he didn't need to. He only went to the water because it felt like he was holding a fireball in his pocket. He took out the orb and observed it. It was no longer the deep blue that it was when he had first received it, but it seemed to be intermixed with flecks of a swirling orange color.

There was only one conclusion he could come to: Pyro was dead and his element had been intertwined with Ross'.

He didn't know who had killed his friend, but he would find out who and he would avenge Pyro. Ross stormed out of the water, but had more or less collected himself by the time he reached Airis again. "So what's the plan?"

((So....Sorry if this seems OP....It just seemed to fit really well .-. I'm willing to change it upon request.))
((And besides, fire is a pretty important element...It wasn't considered one of the four elements for nothing ;3 ))
((Lastly, to clear up any confusion, Ross isn't the new Guardian of Fire or anything, this was just a way to have Pyro's element, if not himself live on. Basically, Ross can minorly control Fire*, but only when it is involved with water, and only by using the orb.))

((*Side Note: The fire Ross controls is not the typically fire that we are familiar with. It's a sort of...wet fire, which I know sounds weird, but hey, this planet isn't Earth.))

Once again, Alouette stands and watches. She listens, too, as Airis and Ross discuss who's trustworthy... But then, the white-haired Guardian is overcome by something and rushes off. It's only a few minutes before he returns, calm again.
"So what's the plan?"
Before she answers, though, she asks, "Um... Are you alright?"

...

Ross hesitates, unsure how to respond. He comes to the conclusion that keeping Pyro's death and his orb a secret is best for the time being. "Yeah, I'm fine. I just got sick thinking about Light's blood all over your hand." He then mumbles something or another about a disgusting sheep. Where'd that comment come from?

"How am I going to call him? I don't know where he is. Like I said, our best bet is probably that lightning strike." Why is he talking like he knows Pyro is dead? There's no way he could know. Unless....He killed Pyro. No-no-no. That's irrational....But how else would he know? Is he just assuming Pyro's dead? That's a bit pessimistic. ...It was probably Cyra that killed him....

Skri'ik turned to the sound of the voice. It was Liro awakening. "Greetings, Liro. I'll help you, sure." He summoned very small clouds that would work to clot the wound - but did not use them yet. "But before I do that, you have some questions to answer. Why did you try and kill Cyra, after we discussed about how useless it would be?"

"Hmm... perhaps it was her doing." He glared at Cyra. He then sighed and proceeded to clot the wound. "Well, I think we should get moving again soon - when we do, you should both be more passive."
He walked over to Liro and whispered into his ear "The issue is, Cyra's recovering fast... she'll have power enough back soon. What do we do?"

"Woah! When I say I don't know I get blamed for being impulsive, but when Liro says he doesn't know, I get blamed?"

"Let's just get there as soon as possible then." He said to Skri'ik. Liro pointed down to his leg. "You seemed to have injured me pretty badly though."

She rolled her eyes.

"I agree. Let's get there as fast as we can. My apologies for the injury... I just had to do what I had to do, to stop all hell from breaking loose. Another dead guardian wouldn't solve anything." More importantly, he wouldn't be able to extract knowledge from a dead guardian.

"Yeah okay about my falling and breaking my head...?"

Liro threw a pebble at Cyra. "Hush."

"A bigger rock might work, not a pebble though. Unless you throw it harder. Hmm."

"Ah, I forgot about that." Skri'ik waved his hand and the concentration of the cloud decreased. He made sure Cyra would not be able to see well, but enough to see the path in front. "Now it works more like a mist, to limit your vision, instead of completely block it. You'll have to make do with this."

"I'd throw the pebble harder if Skri'ik would let me." He said to Cyra while smiling.

"Oh yes about that, Skri'ik and I had a very interesting theory about everyone falling on rocks and dying while you were asleep or unconscious. But that was more about the falling and less about the rock. Hmm."

"That would be... interesting... to say the least." Liro replied. "But I'd prefer being alive right now."

Skri'ik now felt at ease. Both Liro and Cyra knew he was in control. He would utilise this control to make sure they made it to the other guardians smoothly. "Enough of that, you two. We all want the same thing - to get to the others, right? This will just slow us down."

"Hey I was just discussing theories, I wasn't corrupting weird rocks or anything."

"Still, our aim is to get to the guardians. Now, if we're all ready, let's start moving." Without waiting, Skri'ik got up and began to walk, albeit at a slower pace than prior to make up for Liro's wound and Cyra's limited vision.

"Why do we need to get to the other Guardians anyways?" Cyra asked.

Skri'ik hesitated for a moment. He did not want to reveal his obssession with knowledge in its entirety, so he had to think of an excuse. "...well, the other guardians may not know of your atrocities. I think they will know better what to do with you than me and Liro will."
"Also, me and Liro can find out what happened with the portal", he added quietly. That was his true aim, but he coated it with justice.

"Well if there are horrible Guardians like me, is stumbling into another group of Guardians the best idea?"

"What other choice do we have? Go back to the cave, having accomplished nothing? Wander around aimlessly? I think we need to get something done, and this is the best way to go about it."

"Well if Liro prefers to stay alive..."

"It's a risk we'll all have to take."

"Isn't that Liro's choice?"

"Well I might die if you guys don't help me soon." Liro said in a sarcastic tone.

Cyra laughed. "Sarcasm is great."

"Well, I did clot your wound... not much else I can do for you. To answer your question, Cyra - it is Liro's choice, yes. If he doesn't want to come with us, he can leave at any point. Of course, you don't get that freedom of choice." Skri'ik smiled.

"Hmm speaking of that, you're heading in the wrong direction."

"Thanks." Liro muttered. He managed to get up and started hopping around on one leg. He looked around and saw his sword lying around. "Oh yeah, I almost forgot about my sword." He wobbled over to pick it up.

Skri'ik hesitated, not for the first time in recent memory. Could Cyra be trying to mislead them? Could she be trusted, after all of what she did? He thought no. "What makes you say that? We've been heading in this direction the entire time."

"Probably because you're heading towards the other crater, not the one with the lake. You do realize you struck everyone with lightning and everyone got confused for a bit?"

Skri'ik did not have any counter-response to that. She did have a point... he had no choice but to trust her for now, even after all that happened. He said in a sarcastic tone, "Alright, I concede. Now, show us the direction, far seer."

"I can't really see far, you know, with these clouds in front of my face." Cyra smirked and headed towards the lake.

He didn't know who had killed his friend, but he would find out who and he would avenge Pyro.
((What's sad is that Pyro apparently died of hypothermia or exhaustion caused by hypothermia.
This means Catcocomics the Frost Phoenix was the accidental cause of the death of someone he never met, and he doesn't even know it.
By the way, what would the time of day be if the sky wasn't blocked by shadow right now?)

((He died because he could no longer keep himself warm...Sort of like how if the flame of a charmander's tail dies out it's pretty much over. And no one really knows the time of day...People just sort of sleep when they do something tiring.))
