The Guardian of Water, The Aspect of Fire and The Guardian of Fear

As Ross ran, a thousand thoughts flashed through his mind. He thought of how close to Pyro he was. How Pyro died because of his own ignorance. He thought of how he had fought the Darkness using Pyro's powers. He remembered how he felt using those powers. He had known it wasn't right, that they weren't his powers to use, but it felt so right. Using them had made him feel somehow closer to Pyro. He remembered how it got out of hand. How his reckless use of it eventually unleashed the chaotic Aspect into the world. As the sparkling lake came into vie, his thoughts shifted to thoughts of Poseidon. Thoughts of his first time in Poseidon's realm. And before he knew it, he was sloshing through the water full speed, showing no sign of slowing down. The moment he was fully submerged, however, he was out. Momentum carried his body, but his mind was somewhere else.

Az saw water boy running away. Running from what exactly? Running to where? What can be gained from following him? What can be lost? Coming to a conclusion, Az ran after his Guardian's friend. Who knows? Maybe I'll get an excuse to fuck him up...

Through a haze, Takot watched his friends run off. First Ross, then Az. Afraid of being left alone in an unfamiliar place, Takot followed.

There was no delay between Ross' arrival and Poseidon's appearance. Before Ross could even open his mouth say apologize, Poseidon spoke. "Ross. You have unleashed blazing chaos into your world. You may not know it, yet, but Az has the power to extinguish the life from this planet. Given time, he will. You must stop him, though it will be difficult." Poseidon paused, switching his mindset to a less formal one. "Now that that's out of the way...I'm glad you made the right choice....Even if that choice unleashed a powerful and chaotic force on the world. Now, you're running out of time, so bye." Ross didn't even get to say a word, and already he was washed up on the beach, his mind still lingering in Poseidon's realm.

Az watched as Ross disappeared into the lake only to reappear on the shore less than a minute later. He stood over the Guardian, watching him come to.

Ross opened his eyes and snapped upright in shock, taking his trident from his back and his orb from his pocket in one smooth motion. He stood combat ready with no sign that it was a mistake.

Az smirked as he realized what had happened: Poseidon had spoken to the boy. And he'd bought every word of it. He saw two options: reason with the Guardian, or kill him. The former was probably better, but the latter was much more fun. Az took a combat stance of his own, conjuring a fireball in each hand.

Takot had just caught up when he saw Ross and Az getting ready to rip each other's throats out. Naturally, he jumped immediately to his friend's aid. His powers were weakened since Fear had escaped into their world, but he could still utilize them to an extent.

"Let's make this quick." Ross spat the words out, hostile. He could feel his blood heating up.

"Let's," Az agreed. Wasting no time, he hurled the first fireball directly at the Guardian of Water.

Ross ducked away. He himself remained unscathed, though his robe was singed. He looked down at the charred bit and grew angry. He had no idea where this robe came from, but he'd grown fond of it.

Takot had fallen down in an attempt to dodge the fireball that wasn't even coming toward him. Maybe he really is just a big scaredy cat...

Az noticed Ross' reaction and was reminded of Poseidon in their age. Sure they weren't nearly as close as Pyro and Ross, but they'd still seen each other a fair bit. He knew that when Poseidon got angry, he got angry...And irrational. "You're cute when you're angry." He almost vomitted saying it, but what better way to taunt someone than to bring up his deceased lover?

Takot saw through Az' plans. Though he was still on the ground, he could still get into Az' head. He never got a chance to look around inside, but the look on his face told Takot that he had at least thrown him off.

Ross' blood was boiling so hot he felt as if his veins would pop. Steam lifted from him, as if his very essence was evaporating. But he didn't feel it, he was on the attack. He ran at the Aspect faster than either of them would have thought possible. The two bodies collided, Ross' trident plunging into Az' chest.

Az clutched at his head as something pervaded his mind. He leaned in and felt a sharp, cold pain peirce him. He fell back, hit the sand and disappeared, banished once more to the realm of fire.

Naoh std1997 (because I thought he might want to see his death) ))

It stood there, in the empty void. There was nothing it could see or hear or touch. Everything was gone and it was the only thing left.

It observed itself. The form that it appeared to have taken was that of a male human, with black hair, fair skin and typical adventurer's gear. But it was ethereal, beyond, above and below everything else. Since the form it had taken was male, it figured that it too must be male. He stood there, in nothing, for an eternity and only a moment, feeling a dim sensation of accomplishment and pride over having figured out his gender.

Then, he sensed something else. Two beings that didn't belong there. He frowned slightly in confusion, trying to understand why those two were there. It seemed they were coming straight towards him and he wasn't sure if he liked that or not.

The beings got there quicker than he excpected. One of them placed a hand on his shoulder, only to have it fall right through him, as if the being had tried to rest his hand on mist. It didn't seem like it mattered though, since the being, who he noted to have wings, proceeded to speak to him. He didn't understand the words, but strangely enough, the meaning was as clear to him as crystal. He had no idea where that expression had popped to his mind from, either.

"En... dal? Is that my name, then?" he wondered out loud after the meaning of the words spoken got through to him, not noting the presence of the other two, living beings. Yes, he could pinpoint exactly what it was that didn't feel right about these two now, they had blood flowing through their veins, whereas the place they were in right now was reserved for the dead. Did that mean he was dead?

((Ansoro2112 CaffeinatedKitty I guess we'll have a nice conversation now.))

"Endal. It feels good to have a name again," he said, smiling lightly. The smile disappeared when he noticed the distress of the girl now in front of him.

"...you won't be able to help us..." the girl muttered and Endal could see her hopes shattering. He couldn't help but feel sorrow for her. The pair in front of the ghost had come all this way, to the other side of death itself, just to find him. And now that they'd found the ethereal mist of a memory of the Guardian they'd been seeking, it had seemingly all been in vain. "Help you?" Endal asked more himself than the strange duo looking at him.

It took only a moment to reach clarity. "Yes, I can help you. We need only to get out of this Void and then, I can help you."

((As you can see, I've switched from a first-person narrative to a third-person narrative. Also, a quick recap of what's been going on while I was dead would be nice, especially regarding who's alive and who's dead, and who's still "good" and who has turned to the dark side.))

"That's... a fair point, I suppose. I do seem to be dead, and I know next to nothing about this place... Or anything, for that matter." Endal had the peculiar feeling like he knew he had memories, he just couldn't get to them while in the state he was in right now. "In any case, I won't be able to help you two with whatever it is you want my help with from here, right? So, to be able to help you, we'll have to get out of here, even if I do stay in this ethereal form."

Guardian of Wind

*Airis looks directly at Endal*

"We don't really have an answer for that right now. We don't even know if it's possible to get you out, Endal. The only thing I can think about is to call for Death. I'm sure he'll tell us what we could do."

*Once again Airis decides to look up and call for him*

"Death! Are you there?"

(( endersteve5 CaffeinatedKitty Shanebat1 So basically Alouette and myself finally found Endal. But in order for Endal to help us he needs to get out of this place. But since we're not the ones in charge of this place and we're not familiar with the rules, then it's better to ask you, Shane ))

Essence of Fear

Even without me to keep the balance, I think man would still fear the dark. He doesn't face that fear, he averts his eyes from it and acts as if he never had any memories of his history. Man's fear has withered. And even time tries to wither the desire to know fear. And it is I who is to restore the fruits of my labors to the entire world. Fear... It is something vital to us puny creatures. The instant man stop fearing is the instant the species will reach a dead end, only to sink to pitiable lows, only to sit and wait apathetically for extinction. I shall re-introduce fear to you, that you may in time grow to become well antiquated. Prepare yourselves, fools, I am coming. And I'll not have anyone or thing to restrain me from reminding you of your dark phobias, your hidden terrors and your greatest fears.

(( cookies if you got the anime I half-referenced for this speech ))
