Although not significant to the posts at this specific time, I wanted to reflect back on Lee's posts, because frankly I don't see the real point to them. From what I'm getting at from them, they're mainly stating that people are voting hunter because they don't like him, letting "emotions" get in the way, playstyle, and so on and so forth.
Thus far I haven't seen anyone (outside of that one post by myuser a few posts ago which I just saw) voting hunter because "they don't like him," because looking back at past games events and situations, though indeed a bit of a gamblers fallacy in some outlooks, can shed light or insight into the present. Some people do believe Hunter is being scummy, and though playstyle can be one of them, they may also have other reasons (which should be stated!)
Though I agree with some aspects of what was trying to be said, it feels like in and of itself, while trying to "dissuade against bringing emotions up into this," is in itself doing exactly that, and thus having a somewhat clouded view on the situation at hand.
some nice quotes to ponder over
also alpha doesn't have a chance to be a useful town pr
(I also just saw this since people are constantly giving me alerts)
Hunter why don't you actually TELL US YOUR OPINIONS about those quotes, not just telling us to "ponder them over." Why bring them up if you aren't going to tell us what you are also thinking? You've done this a lot, post a "thing to ponder over" or tag other people, but never giving insight yourself.
Anyways, in terms of the "who to vote based on claim" situation (which at this point in time doesn't seem that great of a basis), I'm still sticking with my original opinion that I see no real reason as to vote Alpha (or Notty too, basically anyone who has "hardclaimed," if you can even say that), and this is largely because I went back to look at exactly the situation on
when Alpha claimed third-party Alien. Frankly, I was surprised.
It was on PAGE FIVE. FIVE! For petes sake that's so early.
Defiant stated in a post previously, and Alpha even stated this as well, that he was essentially "backed into a corner to give his claim," which frankly, looks downright silly of a statement after looking back at the situation at hand. Being so early in the game, with a lot of the posts being somewhat jokes, the game just starting, and not all pointed directly at Alpha, I cannot see him getting "backed into a corner to claim"... well,
Alien.
Why?
The only
real quote that directly asked him (as far as I can see) was this made by Defiant:
Alpha102, I want you to lay out what your role is and what it does.
You already claimed that you are something special, so there's no reason to hide it now unless you are scum.
He hardclaimed so easily afterwards. Third-parties are normally seen as "scummy" from my experience in these forum games, so Alien is frankly still quite random.
I state my claim again on why I will not, and shall not vote Alpha
today (not saying anything about later on in the game) unless better evidence is actually brought up against him:
I won't lynch Alpha off the basis of his "possible third-party affiliations," because I feel the claim is fake, and thus I feel we don't truly know his affiliations (like practically everyone here), so I wouldn't vote him until we had more information to go off of.
A claim means nothing, and while so many people seem to be saying these claims are:
where we're both confirmed third parties.
When in truth NONE OF THEM ARE CONFIRMED (I certainly don't see a cop, watchers, whatever stating that these are true, we are simply going off of what
we want to believe).
If we actually want good ground here, both
hunter and
Duffie should reveal their "roles" (if we can even believe them)(though I believe someone said Duffie claimed something similar to Survivor?) rather than simply:
Hunter quote:
I claim townsided (not third party or mafia)
Which is why I'm surprised Ender suddenly went from not trusting Hunter's logic, to suddenly having a "plan" and believing hunter's alignment claim.
Claiming town is easy. Claiming third-party is strange. Claiming Mafia unless this is reverse-mafia is just silly. This much tends to be the agreement.
However, I don't see why we can suddenly simply say it's more trustworthy than anything anyone else has said.
We know this game third-parties, unless they pose a threat to the town(aka serial killer-esq), win but the game goes on, and thus it really doesn't matter if they live or not as they act as a buffer against the Mafia(unless they help the Mafia, then they should be put to the torch!... but we don't know anything at this point).
I must ask again: What is the point of lynching Alpha, Notty, or other claims at this point in time. People have said we should also be looking at others, but haven't really done anything about it.
(For Example)
Should we watch myuser, that statement referring to digi seems rather strange and out-of-the-ordinary in my opinion. Should we delve more into questioning myuser?
I'm basically just rambling at this point so I'm going to end it here, but my main thoughts still stand with me.
-Hunter, rather than simply "jumping around" and not contributing to the conversation should answer his own thoughts instead of simply again, jumpin around to other people.
-I don't see the point in lynching Alpha/others at this present time (since Alpha is the one currently on the stand Ill use his name more)
