In primordia we had a limited number of locked chests so that players could have a private stash while the rest of their chests were open. However, you could also make a really hard jump course/death pit and then put an iron door that goes around it for yourself. As long as people can possibly access via the jump course, you don't have to make the door accessible to them, and you can just put down a lever to access it yourself. For that matter, you can make a dirt door. They aren't allowed to break it, but you are.

That'd be sweet.
Another really cool think would be if there are virtual chests that can be accessed with /chest.
Just to have one chest that is protected no matter what.

If we can't use dirt on chests, does that mean we cant hide the chests at all to secure our precious belongings?

No, you can hide chests all you want but they must not break the rules.

Is your chest legal?
Start outside your house and walk to your chest. If you can find and open it without having to break any blocks to get to it, it is likely OK.

If you're not up to redstone you can try the following;
* On the top of a tree in a forest
* Under lava
* Just visible through a slab brick

Yes! A protected chest that when a player opens it, they only see their own items. But get this - If anyone else tries to open it - BAM! They only see their items not yours... Your loot can never be stolen. It sounds really powerful so should be fairly hard to craft, make the recipe need obsidian? Because the chest holds every player in the worlds loot in some different dimension it's pretty mystical... Much like the 'End'? We can call it an Endermanchest!

You can't make an eye of ender because blaze are banned. So no eye of ender = no ender chest.
