The sharp noise of the speaker once again reaches your ears.
"So... you've had a little time now to process what has just happened. The fact that one of you, who was standing with you in this very room merely hours ago, is now dead. Hopefully you've come to the conclusion that the stage is your only salvation. If so, good. You're thinking along the right track.
Now... there is one last thing I feel I should warn you about. I didn't mention it yesterday because I knew you wouldn't believe me until you'd seen for it for yourself. Well, now you have. The night time. At the Comedy Club. You've lived through it.
The dark.
You may have felt it. It may have been quite subtle. Maybe not. That... unease. The feeling that the darkness is a little... darker than usual. A little thicker. That slight queasiness in your stomach that something about the dark here is... unnatural.
That's your instinct kicking in. Warning you. Because you're right.
Allow me to introduce to you... The Darkness.
It is... more. More than simply a lack of light. It is dangerous. And it is hungry. A hunger that can never be sated. And it feeds at night, one at a time.
The Darkness is the reason we lose so many comedians and have to find so many new batches. If it weren't for it, we'd have much less hassle on our hands. But it's always been the case. It's always been here. Ever since the start of the Comedy Club. And it's always been devastating.
In fact, The Darkness is... probably exactly how Omni died. Probably. Exceptions tend to be fairly rare. Either way, an evil claimed his life. That's all you need to understand the predicament you're in. All of you.
The people who want to murder you, the ones I've spoken about. They work for The Darkness. They... adore it. As I said when you first arrived. They're not in their right mind. The Darkness has already gotten to them, but not killed them. Used them.
I don't understand the details. I barely understand The Darkness itself. I'm not entirely sure if it is an entity of its own or whether it is something... lurking within it. I can't tell you. All you need to know is that it is dangerous. Deadly. And that, your only hope of surviving it, is to rid it of its servants.
Some of you will still refuse to believe me, in spite of what you've seen. That's your choice. But in that case... tonight... turn your flashlight off. During the night time, when you're sealed off in the room that you're in, with the people you're with. Turn it off. See if you can bring yourself to do it.
Or whether instinct stops you.
If it does, listen to it. It will keep you alive. Well. Hopefully.
One final thing you should know. The out of bounds areas. Whilst they are out of bounds for the vast majority of you, the servants of the Darkness can in fact enter them. So let that be a little warning to you.
In fact, the reason those rooms are out of bounds is - well. Perhaps this is stretching it too far. But I suppose there's no harm in telling you.
The sole reason those rooms are closed off for the night is because they are simply too dark. During the morning, shortly after the power has revitalised the Club, a darkness so thick, so viscous, has suffocated those rooms. Even the lights in them cannot stop it. And more rooms suffer a similar fate as the day goes on, and night approaches. Entering those rooms, for those of you with an in tact soul, is not an option. You would die instantly. And your soul knows it. But... for The Darkness' servants, they have no living soul to worry for.
I know, I know. Souls. A Darkness that kills people. For some of you this will sound like utter nonsense. Make-believe. Stuff of mere nightmares. Well, the for the latter you're probably right. But it'll be those people, the ones who try to rationalise it away, the ones who refuse to believe it, who will get themselves killed.
Take my word for it or don't. Remember the last time you were given that choice, and which option turned out to be the correct one. That's all I have to say on that matter.
And... that's it, really. I think that's the last piece of information I'll have for you. Well, aside from informing you of the body count and whatnot.
But enough chit-chat. The performance grows nearer. They are waiting, and this time, they will not be denied a show. So make your choice. And if you left your flashlight behind, make sure to take a new one."
The microphone switches off.
